Top notch
I’m a huge fan of Govee products. I’ve had at least 5 thus far and the colors are vivid, the pre-installed patterns are great. I also love the audio reactive setting, and the DIY modes. The app is intuitive, it connects seamlessly and is easy to use and makes turning the light strip on and off so easy. I definitely recommend the light strip to others looking to add a pop of color to their spaces.

Excellent purchase
These are perfect for ambient lighting. This was a replacement for another older set that wore out. Easy to remove the older set and install this set. They are in my sunroom, placed along the top of my vertical blinds on two sides. Very cost effective too. Love the Bluetooth control

Dreamcolor patio
The media could not be loaded. I bought two sets of these DreamColor lights and ran it underneath the railing of my patio. I bought an additional RGB light kit and ran it underneath my stairs.I had no issue cutting and splicing the RGB light strips so that I could insert extension wires when: (1) running the lights from step to step, and (2) covering two sets of stairs that are approximately 32' of wire away from each other.I drilled holes in the railing and posts for the Dreamcolor strips. However, the Dreamcolor strips were a challenge because I want the microphone positioned at a certain location on my patio, and I want the starting point of the LED strips to be mounted farther than the length of the provided wire. Because you're not supposed to cut Dreamcolor light strips, at my own risk (I'm pretty sure I forfeit my warranty/support doing this), I cut the wires between the pin connector and the power source, and spliced in some extension wire. I discovered that I couldn't insert more than 3' of extension wire before the Dreamcolor signal became "confused" (it lost the ability to control the intended colors, light got "stuck"). I purchased a lower gauge extension wire and a data signal repeater/amplifier and hope to extend the extension wires more than 16'. I'll post updates, but appreciate any input from anybody who has already done this or has expertise with this kind of thing. In the meantime, the setup is very functional, and (at least for now) the patio is in high demand among my family members. The power strip, power adapters, microphones, etc. are all stored in a Suncast 22 gal. java resin wicker storage seat (model SSW1200), where I cut an opening underneath to feed the power/led wires. The storage seat does a great job keeping the equipment dry, and I expect to bring in the equipment during the winter season. I also like the bass that it creates when we put the portable bluetooth speaker in there (next to the microphone).I have this set up on Google assistant, so we can verbally say things like "turn on patio lights at 50 percent", or "set patio lights white". The attached video demo is in Music Mode - Energic.1/12/2020 conclusion after experimenting with other systems:CON for Govee Dreamcolor vs. competing customizable sytems:1. I wasn't able to splice in 3-in wire extensions for customizing the distance between strips and my microphones. One of the issues is that their connectors are proprietary. Perhaps someone more skilled in soldering will have no problems, but I would still have questions regarding the 12V power supply.PROs for Govee Dreamcolor vs. competing customizable sytems:1. You don't have to spend any time researching and coordinating across strip type, controller type, and power supply voltage, assuming you are satisfied with the distance between the microphone and the LED strips.2. The Govee system is less than half the cost of a customizable system (i.e., IP65 strips, controller, power supply, 3M tape).3. In my opinion and limited experience, this Govee system has the best controller (for price range). It has all of the following: Alexa/Google Assistant integration, Wifi/Bluetooth control, and cool music patterns.

UPDATE BELOW Alexa cannot enable Govee Home Skill after many attempts
As soon as I connected to Bluetooth and my Wi-Fi, the app needed to update; which it did successfully to version 1.02.17 without an issue but...I have tried many times to have the Alexa app enable the Govee Home skill and as you can see from the pic I uploaded, I get that same message every time. I emailed customer support and so far nothing.I purchased these lights specifically to use with Echo and cannot connect. Before I purchased, I watched YouTube videos and now one seemed to have commented that they had issues enabling the skill but amazon reviews & Govee Home reviews the majority of reviews say the same things...Alexa App cannot enable the Govee Home skill.I will try again for the next few days and if customer service does not contact me or offer assistance, I will update my review and return the LED Strip.UPDATE 10/18/19:Govee support:1. Govee customer service has contacted me andA. Replaced the light strip since it didn’t workB. Assisted me to connect with Alexa App. To connect to and enable the skill on the Alexa App, you MUST sign OUT of the Govee Home App then enable the skill in the Alexa App. Connected right up!Back to the product review:Pro:Works great. Lights are bright.Colors are niceNeutral:Is it with the money? You need to answer that question. I say I’m paying for a device that you cannot use the main and intended function...control via Alexa/Echo. So to me it’s not. Like other have said, you can buy cheaper lights without all the app/connectivity issues and still get the same and/or maybe “better” lights...cheaper. But that if for you to decide.Con:Remember, I did the Govee app & lights update when I first connected the lights to my WiFi (cannot update the app/lights when you are only connected by Bluetooth.) the update is for the LED strip controller NOT the Govee Home App.For some reason (for me) the Govee Home app does not keep my WiFi settings. So when I do ask Echo to turn on/off/change color, she does it but the light status doesn’t change. Alwxa sees the light but cannot control it. Even logging out of the Govee Home app did not fix the issue. From my attempts:1. Must log out of Govee Home app to enable skill in Alexa App2. Govee Home App does not keep WiFi settings which prevents Alexa/Echo from controlling the lights. It seems from my attempts that the Govee Home App must have the WiFi settings for Alexa/Echo to control the lights.3. Not sure if the app does not refreshes in the background to keep the settings but mine does not and it it enabled. On my iPhone the Govee Home app is not listed in my Background Refresh Settings list. Yours might.Cinclusion:1. Govee needs to fix the issue that I and many are having to make this product work as intended and described.Of a 5 star scale I give them 3:52. Customer service has been good, not great. I gave them an additional .5 for replacing the led strip quicklyOf a 5 star scale I give them 4 other wise it would have been 3.53. LED lights: judging color, operates as described & user controlOf a 5 start scale I give them 2.5. This is because it was time consuming to get the skill enabled and the app does not kee WiFi settings which is the sole reason I and many others purchased this...to control via Alexa/Echo. We all want a smart device to be reliable and function as claimed. This is an unbiased review. I’m a consumer like most of you and want what I pay for...we all do.UPDATE 10/21/19:There was a Govee Home App Update v2.2.2. But still seems it hasn’t fixed the keeping WiFi settings issue.
