Why didn't I get this sooner.
I lost my last pair a long time ago. I had forgotten how nice it is to have a solid pair of pliers. This pair is superb.

Quite Good, Well Made
In the well saturated world of linesman pliers, these honestly don't stand out, but they are still quite nice. The overall build quality is good - the pivot is smooth with no slop or wobble. The cutters line up basically perfectly, as do the jaws. They have a nice heft to them, and the grips feel good in the hand. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a decent pair of linesman. And that's what these are: far better than the cheapie junk out there, but not really distinct or nicer than established pairs of linesman's. Basically, if you get these, they will almost certainly serve you well. If I were a professional, I would likely spend more for a professional pair. Overall, worth it - especially for the price.

Perfect for my DIY needs
If you are doing any kind of electrical work around the house these lineman's pliers are a great addition to your tool box.The action is a bit rtght compared to a standard set of pliers as is to be expected since the arms are connected via one large joint. The high leverage handles and evenly aligned cutting blades made short work of 14/2 wire. The intentionly gapped jaws allow the jaws to remain parallel when holding multiple strands of wire together for twisting. The angled outside of the jaws help facilitate consistent bends in cables. the weight and beefy construction also take the worry out of using these pliers as a hammer for small nails and staples.I recently replaced a number of light fixtures and ceiling fans that had to be rewired and I have to say using these pliers was a better overall experience than using standard pliers.Very happy to recommend these .

Stout pliers
This is a robust pair of lineman pliers. Definitely a fan of this brand of tools and they come with a lifetime warranty. The only flaw I see in the pair I received was the tips do not fully meet. Outside of this they are great pliers.

Precision Made
Crescent has long been a standard for pliers and other tools. And while they're no longer made in USA, Taiwan manufacture has proven to be very competitive with American production.Without testing to failure, I can only give a subjective review of these linesman pliers. They appear to be of high quality, with no play in the joint. The cutter is machined with enough precision to cut paper cleanly. And while my pair had a tiny notch in the cutter (barely detectable with my fingernail), it did not seem to affect performance. The pliers overall are fairly standard design, with a gripping jaw behind the joint as well as the typical pliers in the jaws. The red-dipped handles are comfortable, but not particularly cushy. For a homeowner / DIY-er, I expect these pliers to last a lifetime and beyond.

Heavy-duty, and matching high quality of other crescent tools I own.
I have some other older crescent brand tools and these seem to match the same high quality. These don't fully close at the tip. That is by design. It is said to decrease the chance of shorting out wires, and allow for easier insertion of wires, and to prevent tool face wear over time. It will keep the gripping groves longer that allow the pliers to fully grip for the life of the tool. These are well-built for heavy-duty user and otherwise and perform well.I do also like the rubber handle grip. The grip is very comfortable.Highly recommended for a lifetime use tool.
