Duncan Hines Complete Cake Mix Magic

Only not as extensive or suggestive as the Cake mix Doctor.However, this is a nicely chosen selection of dessert recipes designed to jazz up your standard cake-mix. I would say I am more partial to this over the Cake-Rx books for three reasons:1.) The book has color pictures, call me immature, but if I'm too lazy to make a cake from scratch, I'm going to want color pictures/diagrams to show me what I should have come up with.2.) The recipes are easier to read. The layout is concise and the bold print lends a helping hand to "tired eyes".3.) And this is a big one: the book lies perfectly flat when in use. Even after I broke the spine of my Cake-Rx book to lie flat the pages still danced about on their own accord. That really annoyed me.

This is a wonderful cookbook. For those who want to serve a beautiful, delicious cake to friends and family without spending all day in the kitchen, this book is a must have! Using cake mixes and other ingredients, you can make a fabulous looking cake. This book has a lot of wonderful pictures and ideas for a cakes that will make your guests say "wow" .. Found this book at the library and ordered my own copy. Love it !!

Got home and opened my package to see my book is apart and front cover is off the sprial. Not happy at all.

Is exactly what I expected. Plan to use it frequently. Simple directions and ingredients. Very pleased.

use of cake mixes makes for a quicker product, I have about 15 favorites from this book, and more that I want to try! great photos and easy to follow directions. I substitute other brands without any problems

This book is MAGICCCCCCCCCC, really, i didn't know make a cake....and with this book, I DID IT.... :)it's an excellent beginning...every recipe has photos... and all the recipes are delicious...I love you so much and always be with me....

I bought this to start a collection of cookbooks for my granddaughter. I love it. She is going to be so excited to receive this as a gift. She is an avid baker and will love it.I was impressed with this book and the service from Amazon.com with my ordering process.

Not really been that great but I still use it

The above description for this book is very detailed and accurate, so I won't list all the chapters and contents.This is my favourite cake book. Let's face it I love a shortcut as much as anyone else and this book is filled with incredibly good recipes. All of the cakes I have made from this book worked, and impressed friends and family.The introduction by the author is relevant, informative and interesting to read and that's something you don't hear every day about a cookbook. We learn what is a cake mix, what works and what doesn't. Frankly the introduction helped me understand what I can get away with, like substitutions and slight changes in quantity, (sometimes you just don't have that full cup of pineapple juice on hand).But maybe the best reccommendation I can make is that my copy of this book got ruined and I will buy a new one right away.
