Yoolax Motorized Blinds with Remote, Smart Blinds for Windows, Custom Size

first I will say that ordering these custom blinds from amazon was something I was a little worried about, and the interface is a little clunky putting in all your measurements, the seller has gone to great lengths to make sure absolute precision and accuracy is made during the order, even emailing back as part of their workflow to make sure you re-confirm before they custom cut everything in their factory and mail to you. I live in NYC, it took about 10 days from order to delivery, which was faster than I expected. the blinds are cut exactly to what you tell them. they look great, and the motors are silent and very precise. I purchased this set of blinds with the zigbee motor and another set of yoolax blinds for another room with the bluetooth hub and motor, after using both, I suggest the bluetooth. as an engineer, I was attracted to the idea of not needing a dedicated hub, and having it go directly to an amazon echo, one less device we need to keep running on the network was my thinking. What I noticed was that the current version of the amazon echo devices seem to be eliminating support for zigbee direct, they appear to be moving to favoring bluetooth or connectivity through a smart hub, so I had to procure an older, yet still available amazon echo 4 to connect to the zigbee motor. In the process of linking the zigbee motor was a little odd. the Amazon Echo 4 sees the zigbee device, and will add it, however until you also download the yoolax app, and connect it to the echo and link the yoolax app to the amazon echo, it will not operate reliably. I also had to make routines in the alexa to make the blinds go up and down with keywords, im not sure if that is user error or not, but its working very reliably now. Ill contrast this with the other set I bought for my other room with bluetooth motor and the bluetooth hub, I plugged in the hub to usb power, opened the yoolax app. it found the hub in 2 seconds without prompting, found the new blinds that I had just installed and turned on, downloaded firmware update automatically, then my alexa app on my android automatically said "we have found your new blinds!" and boom, they were running without me even doing anything! I also have a free google home display that google gave me for being a Fi cellular customer, I dont use it much but it is in the same room as the new bluetooth blinds, so another benefit of the bluetooth hub is that I was able to link them to my google home display in that room, and control those blinds via voice, so the bluetooth is also nice in this regard also since it works with a variety of voice assistants. given the reality that you need the yoolax app no matter which motor you use (zigbee or bluetooth) I think the overall experience with the bluetooth hub and motor was way more accommodating, and since zigbee usese 2.4ghz just like bluetooth, I guess there isnt much of an advantage to zigbee anyway.

These arrived and I just installed them. I’m quite happy. They look nice, the parts seemed to be high-quality, everything was very well packed and organized. I felt like the online instructions were a little brief and it seemed to me that there was an easier way to install the support brackets, but this is a little thing. Overall, I’m very impressed and would definitely buy more curtains from this company again. (I purchased two remote controlled roller blinds)

They arrived perfectly and sooner than we expected. They were very easy to install and with a little help we were able to get them connected to work with the Alexa app. Have four of them installed and would not be surprised if I even get a couple more in the future.

I bought 3 of these smart shades with solar panels (good concept), came in the time frame they promised, appear good quality. I was able to install without any problem. It was a little tricky to connect with Alexa but not too difficult. Worked great for 1 WEEK, then ALL 3 OF THEM BROKE, no response by remote or Alexa; I thought may be battery didn't get charged from solar panel, so I climbed up and connected to power, but still dead. I messaged seller through amazon, and they sent me 3 new motors, I installed them and they are working fine now, but I am worried about their durability, its just a few days, not sure how long will they last.....

Fits like a glove, measurements are what we entered. Very quiet Remote worked out if the box, added the solar panel so we will see if it keeps it charged. It came fully charged which was nice Also ordered the smart hub, Google can now control the blinds. The setup wasn't easy but it wasn't hard if you have played with smart devices before. The blind arrived, a bit later than expected, installation was easy (the installation brackets are not adjustable so they are a bit long for my outside installation, (leaving a bit of a gap between the window frame and the blind, but I ordered them a bit bigger so not much light get thru). Overall setting up and operating the blinds with the remote control was easy. The trouble starts when you try to operate them with Alexa, the user manual is complete garbage and if you follow it it will not work. Search the reviews, you need to give a command with a % , like 1% is open and 99% is closed. Update, blind is still operational with the remote control, good blinds if you do not care about the Alexa integration. The blinds continuously disconnect from Alexa. First time I synced them they stayed connected for a few month. Then one blind stopped responding to the Alexa commands. Shortly thereafter the 2nd one stopped responding. I reset the devices (4x short press, one longer press) and connected them again. Worked again for a few weeks. Now I need to sync them almost daily to have voice control so I basically stopped using it and are just using the remote control.

don’t be fooled by false advertisement these blinds do not work with Alexa. They only work if you buy a hub no matter what version of Alexa you have. Don’t spend the extra money for smart blinds that hooked directly to Alexa they don’t work. Save your money by the blinds that require a hub because all the blinds require a hub. The extra money you spend for the blinds that hook directly to Alexa is wasted. The blinds work well with the remote the blinds are easy to install but they are not smart blinds. I just spent two days on the phone with Amazon technical support and Amazon customer service trying to get them to work they still don’t. Yoolax does not have a technical support or customer service your only option is through email or long-distance phone numbers overseas to Asia. So another words no customer or technical support for yoolax blinds without Amazon in the middle. Save yourself a huge headache buy them from someone else if you want smart blinds.

Wow, this is a great product. Works great, easy to setup with Google Home/Zigbee, and easy to completely hide the solar panel if you set the upper limit about 3 inches below the roller. Buy with confidence.
