Very happy. Son wanted an ant farm and I found this. We both love watching them, upkeep is super easy, and babies!!!! So many babies, it’s awesome! We are looking forward to expanding at the end of the summer. And no smell! A little minty if anything. Such a great buy!

We bought this for my 4 year-old son instead of an ant farm because it seemed more interactive. He has loved watching the seeds grow, watering them, and - today - introducing the roly polys to their new home! We received a TON of them, all living despite the VERY cold conditions outside. They are so active and delightful to watch! My 2 year-old loves them too. They now have to be the centerpiece at our dinner table and, I'll admit, we ALL love watching them.

I ran across this roly poly farm by coincidence. My son is a bug fanatic, and had no idea that keeping isopods (roly poly) as pets was an option. When the gift was opened, it was an obvious standout for a kid that normally doesn't show excitement. The kit is exactly as described, and contains the enclosure, sponge, dirt, seeds, instructions, and a coupon to order the isopods. Ordering the isopods was simple, but now we had to wait. The good news is that growing the chia grass was engaging (and easy), and the daily watering helped my son to remain patient until his isopods. The day quickly arrived, and the isopods had arrived. They were extremely well packed, we received extras, and almost every one of them was lively on arrival. I highly recommend this kit for anyone interested in these neat creatures.

I think they should be more upfront with the cost/ add in shipping in the initial purchase, getting a voucher for $10 worth of roly polys when shipping is another $10 feels slimy.

We got our son this to keep him busy during all the school's closing and stay in orders, and actually the whole family is loving it so far! As soon as we got the farm, we followed the directions and put the chia seeds in and dirt and watered them- then afterwards ordered the Roly's..well the timing was right because we just received the Roly's today and the Chia sprouts are just about an inch long, so the farm is ready for the Roly's!! All the roly's arrived alive and active and are in their farm enjoying their new environment! Lots of extra Roly's were shipped with our order too! Pretty neat and interactive kit here!

My daughter bought this as a birthday gift for her bug loving father. After opening the farm, the 2 of them spent an hour on the website picking out roly polys together and learning some amazing facts about them. The bugs came in the mail today and they were all alive and healthy. This is going to be a great bonding experience for my daughter and my husband.

This sounded like a great gift for my roly-poly-loving son. It turned out to be a lesson in watching mama burn cash on things that die very quickly. The roly-poly’s that I sent away for died within 5 days of receipt (after following all instructions carefully) so that was disappointment #1. I’m reasonable and know that things happen in transit so I reached out to customer service, both via the website “contact us” form and direct with the email address from the order confirmation (so no excuse of missing the contact). I received no response whatsoever regarding my issue. Bad move. This is apparently a small business (which I love to support) but bad business is just that. Do not waste your time/money/kid’s disappointment on this!

It's a good size and in theory should be amazing. Unfortunately, the chia seeds never grew. Followed directions perfectly and even started over a couple times. Daughter still plays with it so there's that I guess.
