I put it in the microwave for a total of 2 min ( can be heated 1 min and then in 30 sec intervals for a total of up to 3 min) and the warmth + weight + scented delight of lavender, lemongrass and mint was so soothing. The heat actually gets deep into your muscles and is slightly damp, however that happens as you heat this. The weightedness to this heating pad is like a welcome warm hug and it had my muscles feeling so good after only a few minutes. I have not tried to freeze it yet, but I know I found a new tool in my arsonal for stress, anxiety and muscular tension/pain. I have Autism, so this heated neck pad will feel good just to relax with when I am overwhelmed. Would make an awesome gift for this reason, or just about anyone who needs relief of sore muscles, or just a soothing timeout. I highly recommend this item. I used this wrap warm to relax my muscles that get tight while working at my computer all day. I warmed it up the maximum of 3 minutes which was a bit too warm for my skin so next time I’ll do less. It conforms around my shoulders and neck and feels great. The heat lasted about 15 minutes. The smell of lavender and herbs reminds me of an herbal tea which is what I smelled like after using it lol. The feel of the wrap is very soft. You can easily adjust it on your shoulders to make sure the herbs inside are distributed evenly.

Wonderful product...sometimes I wear it while watching TV without heating it up or cooling it down. The weight is just soothing to my neck and shoulders where I carry most of my stress.
