SCORPION!!!

Wow, they never sold toys like this when I was a kid. Now that I'm a grown-up, it serves me little purpose to buy toys other than to collect them 'cuz they look cool. When I bought this I saw some negative reviews because it seemed like it was just for display, but I quickly threw a finger to the reviews, bought one myself, and ripped it out of the box to check it out for myself. If there's anything I'm known for, it's looking at both the good AND the bad side of products.THE GOOD:The figure, Scorpion, is well-detailed. His armor has been painted to look just like his Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 incarnation from MK 2011. Everything's proportionate and he looks cool when he's just in his standing pose. As you can tell from the product picture, his mask is pretty detailed as well, and his eyes are white. Nice touch. You can pose him in many different positions and he stands up most of the time.THE BAD:The figure is made from a weird soft plastic like what baby dolls would be made of. Well the arms, anyway. The people who made this painted over the joints in the bicep (upper shoulder) and when I moved his arm up the paint chipped off there, exposing a mis-tinted joint that was white. There's yellow paint over the black parts of the costume, but that's gonna be on any toy you find so I don't care about that. However if you're a stickler for detail you'll find that it's all over, not just on one section. Very few parts of him are "perfectly painted", yet fortunately all the tints of paint are the same (scattered applause). Also as I mentioned, he can enter different poses. He DOES have 15 points of articulation, but it takes a few minutes for him to find a center of gravity, meaning that yes, it was intended as a display figure. However, having said that, it is a very well-made display figure, perfect for in the box. By the way, when he was in the box, the bubble was placed crookedly over the card, and the tape that covered the bottom of the box was all crinkled. Like it was rushed. But they probably make a million of these a day so I can imagine they'd have some issues with the packaging. Not like anybody's gonna notice or even care if they look at it on your wall!If you intend to play with your Scorpion figure, or you have a kid that plans to (lucky bast... ahem) then I should note that the joints are a bit tough on the upper arms to move and others move a LITTLE freely (but stay when you put 'em in place). It's a cheap figure, I guess 'cuz Scorpion is in high demand, but also fun to screw with to see what poses you can put him in. I'd recommend this for collectors and kids alike, just because it's cool to have a Scorpion figure that LOOKS like Scorpion after all these years. I think it's a great toy and I think collectors should buy it. But if you're one of those people who has to have every dab of ink in the right spot and all the joints have to be perfect, then don't buy it. Also he doesn't come with accessories, but EY--It's a display figure!!! Plus kids got imagination anyway so they can figure somethin' out.

What a rip-off.

$25 for a small poorly made and horribly molded / painted figure. I have been around toys like this for 30 years and have never seen such shoddy workmanship. I realize it is a toy, but for $25 it should look at least as good as the $10 figures at Target. I would have returned it if it hadn't been gifted to my nephew before I saw it.

To much money for the size/quality

The figures were super small, not like the average size of the Naruto figures I’ve been purchasing for my son, also the quality was cheap!

Pretty great, not perfect

I always wished they had the mk2 and 3 costumes for the figures when I was a kid. I had to get this for the nostalgia factor. The figure looks awesome, except for the paint imperfections.. its a bit spotty and the yellow is too thin on the upper torso letting the black show through some.*One thing to note is that this isn't the mortal komat 2 costume, which is the same as the first game. This is from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Arm popped off

Bought for my 4 year old nephew who loves ninjas and enjoys watching me play MK.He was playing with it and an arm popped off.He was upset, but I was able to pop it back in... it kind of destroyed his whole gameplay seeing this ninja lose an arm from simple play. The toy served it's purpose, but I wouldn't place it's value over 4-5 dollars.

Well Detailed, But Be Careful

As a longtime Mortal Kombat fan, I was most pleased to find this. Scorpion is my favorite character in the series and I always preferred the classic palette swap ninja look. So I bought this figure as a tribute/trophy of the character. The detail is excellent, and the articulation is great, but some parts do seem like they could pop right off with too much force applied to them. So this is a figure you do not want little kids playing with, they’ll likely pop off parts that you may or may not be able to re-attach. However, if you’re a huge fan of Mortal Kombat and you would like the figure to display in a collection, then definitely buy it. It fit the purpose I had in obtaining it, and I was very happy with it.

My 6 year old grandson was so disappointed. We expected something bigger for the price

My 6 year old grandson was so disappointed. We expected something bigger for the price. Way overpriced for the product. Please do not sell this stuff so expensive for the quality. This is almost "cheating a trusting child". HATE IT
