Color:Limited Edition Manufactured by Fermentap the FermWrap(TM) heater is used to gently heat fermentations. Use tape to adhere this flexible heating wrap directly to your fermenter. Depending on your configuration and insulation, you can increase the temperature of your ferment from 5-20 degrees Fahrenheit. If using a carboy or bucket you can attach directly using tape (as seen in photo above.) We recommend electrical tape as it sticks and unsticks the easiest. Heating can be controlled by sticking either the entire wrap or a portion of the wrap to the fermenter. In an open environment we see a heating differential between carboy and ambient of 10-15 degrees. This differential can be increased by using our carboy bag to insulate the carboy. To decrease the temperature differential, stick only a portion of the heating wrap to the fermenter. For great results, we recommend a temp controller and carboy thermo well for the ultimate in fermentation temperature control. For the most complete control, use the dual stage temp controller and carboy thermo well, as well as a refrigerator, to control both the high and low temps. You can tape the heater to the wall of the refrigerator as well. With 40 watts of heat spread over two square feet it provides gentle, even heating. Draws 40 watts. 115V.Be aware of an imitation of this product, sometimes even being marketed as a FermWrap(tm), coming from China. The electrical connections are sealed with silicone paste instead of proper electrical connections. Be aware that these Chinese companies carry no product liability insurance. In protection of the Trademark, Fermentap will also find it necessary to pursue any company selling a replica product as an original FermWrap(tm) on their site.

Works great, but isn't as big as it looks in the picture.
It isn't apparent from the picture or description, but this doesn't fit around a standard 5 gallon carboy. In fact, it doesn't even go all the way around my 3 gallon carboy. I suspect the picture actually shows 2 of these, one on each side. However, it still heats well. I have one holding my 3 gal carboy at 70 degrees in a room that gets as cool as 64 degrees, and it isn't on all the time so I suspect it could easily heat it past that temperature.-----UPDATE:I ran a test and put 3.25 gal of water in a 5-gal plastic ale-pail, put this wrap around it, and let it run for a few hours. My water was at about 82F out of the tap when I started, and the ambient temp of the room was 69F. The single FermWrap was able to raise the temp of the water in the bucket to 98F before I called the test quits. Temp probe was submerged in the middle of the water. Pretty impressive!Based on this, I raised my rating to 5 star.

Works great
Doesn't wrap completly around the 6.5 gallon glass carboy but it does the trick especially when you cna insulate the outside of the FermWrap with foil backed bubble wrap from the Home Depot.

excellent heat source for fermentation chamber
Fantastic - purchased freezer and use an inkbird controller to cool and use the fermwrap to heat - stays within 2 degrees which is what i have set - highly recommend - i dont wrap it around the fermenter but lay it in the freezer as the heat source - excellent

Wish it was larger
It seems to work for holding 5-6 gallons at 75-80 degrees in a 68 degree basement. I hate taping it every time and it only goes about 3/4 around my carboy. Kinda messy in the end. Work’s nonetheless

so good. Works on the class 6
so far, so good. Works on the class 6.5 carboy. I dressed up the carboy with a jacket to insulate. The make of this thing is basic, but there is no real danger of shock. This was clearly cut from a very long spool of this laminated metal conducting wire, and is taped at the ends. You can easily tape again with electrical tape if you like, but I saw no reason. By following standard electrical procedure with moisture and such, I expect no problem.

Works Great for Souring Beer
I use this for souring beer and couldn't be happier with it! After preparing the wort, this little setup (with the help of a temperature controller) can easily keep my wrapped 5-6 gallon carboy at 120°F for days. It does not go all the way around a carboy, but it doesn't really need to. If the fermentation vessel is wrapped or insulated it will have no problem keeping it nice and warm. All in all, a great product at a great price.

Works great.
Together with the Inkbird Digital Temperature Controller and the Homebrew Stopper Thermowell, this FermWrap heater lets me keep my fermenting wine at the correct temperature -- within a degree of variance that I choose -- without having to monitor it and adjust it manually all the time. the three things together do the job perfectly and I won't make wine without them again. I love tools that work!

For fermenting Kombucha and making yogurt
Bought this and the controller so I can make my Kombucha in the winter. I have a similar one for the 2.5 gallon jug that I make the Kombucha in, but when flavoring it, bottling it, and refermenting it for fizz, I need to keep the bottles warm. Also, I want to make yogurt, and for that, you must keep it at a steady temperature for 10 hours. I will be using it around my bottles for that too.
