Yet it's not unreasonably heavy; it's well-balanced and comfortable to use all day. I like the natural wooden handle. It has never slipped in my hand like some plastic ones have. It is designed to fit all hands; mine are big, my daughters' are small. It is 1-1/4" wide and 1/2" thick, providing solid no-slip control, yet is comfortably contoured.
