My hair isn't falling out and I am growing tiny little hairs especially around the temples and hair line. My hair is darker. The only problem is my scalp is very dry now. When I use the conditioner my hair gets limp and oily. So I use castor oil on my scalp once a month before I was my hair to keep my scalp from drying so bad that it itches and flakes. I also take 10,000mg Biotin to help my hair grow. Careful, it causes me to have chin hairs too. If your hair is fine and you can see your scalp, this might help fill in . Caution I tried another shampoo due to the dryness this caused and my hair started falling out in small clumps. I only see a few hairs in my brush now.

I bought this because I'm 43 and I noticed getting older. My hair did charge it's really thick by nature, and grows really fast. But I noticed a texture change in some hairs. Plus I had weakness and breakage. I didn't his high hopes for this honestly but I can say after 3 months of consistent use my hair is so thick again. On top of that the texture is better. It's smoother not as rough and longer. They key to this is consistency you have to use it. I use it 3x's a week and that's plenty. It's easy to apply and doesn't mess with my color. My hair truly is better. So I will continue this and I got the one for growth. So I'll see if I can incorporate the two.

I have been using this product for about 2.5 months in conjunction with another (more expensive) caffeine-based product meant to reduce hair loss/promote growth. I use the more expensive product on my crown area where my hair is visibly thinning. I use the Plantur 39 on the rest of my scalp and on areas that are not showing much hair thinning yet. So far, I can't really tell anything about hair growth... BUT I do see a reduction in shedding that has been noticeable. I would say it is about a 20-40% reduction in the amount of hairs I get out of my head during showering/shampooing. I guess if it keeps this up over time I'll notice a thicker head of hair. Everything I've been reading says that this effect takes time. Of course, hair takes months to grow so I imagine over time I'll see the results I want. My results are not just from the Plantur product, though. So it is important to take note that I did not use this product all by itself, but in conjunction with the other product. So i don't know how much of the effect I'm getting is attributed to either product.

I bought this last Dec. after my hair was thinning a lot with menopause. At first it seemed like it was helping me to shed less hair (for the first month or so of using it almost daily). Then the shedding came back just as it did before. I stopped using it completely in March & noticed no apparent change in things, so I can now conclude that it does not work. What did work is using Olaplex to repair & strengthen my existing hair from breaking off. It seems the majority of my hair loss was not at the root, but from breakage (due to lightening my hair). I can conclude this because as soon as I started using Olaplex, I now literally have only shed like 5-10 hairs when washing it. This is the least I have shed in over a year! I was also using Purador thinning shampoo & their scalp serum + vitamin supplements for hair for all of 2021 as well. None of those products stopped my shedding like Olaplex did! So, the moral of the story is-you gotta' find out whether your hair loss is really loss from the hair follicle or breakage from damage & then try to remedy it! In general, all of these scalp serums don't seem to do much at all, but scalp massage will help stimulate circulation & supplements will help from the inside out. If you're going to shell out the money (& most of these aren't cheap!), I'd def. splurge on Olaplex because it actually works wonders! PLEASE NOTE: Plantar 49 is the consistency of water, so will be very messy if you squeeze the bottle. I would just tip it upside down on my scalp & more than enough would come out on its own. The SECOND INGREDIENT IS ALCOHOL! It smells exactly like hair spray (like old Aqua Net from the 80's). I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS FOR CHEMICAL TREATED HAIR (DYED, PERMED, STRAIGHTENED, LIGHTENED) because of the alcohol. My hair is lightened/bleached & I believe it dried out my hair & caused breakage-which could be the reason why others have experienced hair loss with the product after continuous use)! It may also dry out your scalp if you have already dry skin/sensitive skin. So, for those with dandruff or skin issues, I wouldn't use it. It has a hairspray like fragrance, so it not fragrance free. So, try at your own risk!

Update from previous review 4/20/24 Since my first review below, the merchant contacted me and made things right. They were very understanding. Give this product a try just because i hade allgeric reaction doesnt mean you will. Merchant is very understand to your needs. Earlier review: I was very disappointed I was unable to return this product. I am unable to use it, it caused an rash on my scalp.

A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!! This stuff is straight up trash!!! It literally does nothing but leave my hair in worse condition than before I wash it. I have much more tangles when I’m done than before, and the conditioner is as runny as water. It’s HORRIBLE trying to brush my hair when I’m done, so I’m sure the breakage is much worse. No growth difference noticed either. Don’t waste your money

I read some research that caffeine has at least some benefits for hair regrowth thus bought this serum. I know that it feels really good to put on my scalp, and the application is fool proof. The smell is light, and my hair feels soft at the roots after using this. I have not lost much hair since using this in combo with ketoconazole shampoo, as well as taking a hair supplement sometimes. I cannot be sure which one is helping, but I am only losing a few hairs a day, and growing new ones again. (I am very sensitive to some strong fragrances, and this is mild and does not make me feel queasy)

I never find a product that really work, I can see the difference in 2 weeks

I started losing hair after having Covid. I noticed more hair loss after brushing and washing and it started to look very thin and patchy around the temples. I’m now on my 4th bottle of this and I feel it has really worked. Within a few days of using it I noticed I was losing far less hair, now I lose barely any. This month I have noticed (and my hairdresser has commented) that I have lots of fine baby hairs all over my scalp but particularly at the temples. My hair looks and feels thicker, there is definitely a visible difference. This solution is watery but I don’t find it difficult to use at all, I just tilt my head back slightly when applying. I also don’t find it to have a strong smell at all, it’s very mild and it quickly disappears. This doesn’t make my hair greasy or weigh it down. I’m very happy with the results from this product and I’ll continue to use it.
