Don't be fooled by cheap paracord. Atwood Rope makes the original 550 Type III paracord right here in the USA. Unlike inferior parachute cord, all Atwood paracord consists of a seven strand core made with three separate strands. This stuff is tough! Paracord is a must for camping, hiking, survival and millions of other uses including securing equipment, shoelaces, vehicle tie downs, sewing, repairing equipment, making a bow, making a shelter, fish gill nets, fishing line, animal snares, clothes lines, lanyards, anchor line, binding, adult recreation, restraints, tooth floss, splints, tourniquet, braiding, bracelets and other crafts. This 100' bundle is great addition to your survival kit or pack. Get the color you want; everything from our traditional and camouflage series to our Zombie apocalypse line. You will love it. Genuine Atwood Paracord has the Atwood Rope Mfg. Co. label; accept no substitutes!

Some of the best of the best 550 Cord suppliers
While we used to own the local Army Navy Surplus, we had Atwood as one of better 550 cord suppliers, and for good reason, they provide a constant quality for this product, and always at a competitive price without sacrificing quality or quantity. I choose the bright orange (and it is really bright) this time to use as possible guy-tie-outs for a tent/tarp, close-line, and lashing while out on the water or hiking. This type of product is all the rage now in the survival movement, with folks doing all sorts of braided belts, wrist-lets, key fobs and the such; its even a good thing to help keep the youngsters involved in some family activity, or knot-tying skill development. And of course, you can use the inside nylon sections to fish with, or lash up some shelter supports, help make a foot bridge and the such, and the outside casing can be used for stitching up tears, or as a sheath for something else.Whatever the intended use? This is the stuff to consider using, its like and outdoors mans Duct Tape in the emergency sense for many the thing Duct Tape can't do . . . they are great companion survival/camping/hunting items.

Hard to get excited about para-cord
Pros: 550 pound test para cord, I haven't tested it to 550 pounds but it will hold down a tarp or tent in high wind. I got neon yellow cord for better visibility. (at night you still don't see it because your flashlight and eyes are looking down) I found the 100 foot lengths wasteful for securing my tarp. (I need 80 foot for the ridgeline and about 60 for the adjusting and stabilizing lines of my tarp. I hate piecing together long lines with multiple cords.)Cons: The 100 foot para-cords are difficult to unravel and require patience. What worked best for me is 300 foot bulk reels of para cord. Its cheaper, easier to unreel and efficient use of cord without having to tie multiple lengths of smaller length cord together. The Attwood product works as advertised, the only issue is initially untangling the cord and inefficient length of the product. Bulk reels are the way to go.

Great color/strength paracord
This paracord is exactly what it states it is: 7 strands and 550lbs of strength. Though I have not tested the full strength, I have used this to tie off various items and have never had it break. Your knots are sure to come undone before you break it if you aren't testing the limits. I would recommend fusing the ends with a heat source otherwise like with other poly cords you will get unraveling. The Pros: strong, thin, durableThe Cons: none to dateOverall: If you're looking for a high strength rope like cord, this is great stuff. I have no complaints and will buy again if I run out!

NOT ATWOOD ROPE!!!
The picture depicts Atwood Rope brand, but what you get is actually Paracord Planet. Atwood is a much stiffer, better quality than PP. PP is very flimsy and floppy, not good for projects that require strength! Buyer Beware! False advertising! One star due to low quality and bait and switch technique.

99 and been satisfied. I had originally bought this cord because it ...
I could have bought 100 foot hank at a craft shop for $8.99 and been satisfied.I had originally bought this cord because it was Atwood, what I received was not what I remember being Atwood quality. The logos had been removed from the packaging. The cord was shoveled into a plastic ziplock bag without being wound correctly. I wouldn't have mind the tangling if the cord had some quality to it.

Woodland Camo Not Atwood Brand
The Woodland Camo color of this 550 cord that I received was not Atwood as I expected but was labeled as Paracord Planet. It feels pretty good and I am not disappointed with the quality of it but I ordered Atwood brand because I had some in the past that was of excellent quality and I wanted to be sure it was good stuff unlike the cord I sourced locally from a Hobby store. In a nut shell excellent cord just not what I expected therefore 4 stars.

Works Great
I got this for the camping season and it got well used. I cut it in smaller pieces for tarp tie downs and used a larger bit to tie up a bear bag while backpacking. Works great, came quick and good quality. Although this is good stuff there are some local retailers that beat the price a little bit, so next time I get some it will probably be from them. There are probably more than 550 uses for this 550 cord and has really come in handy for me as a use in camping.

Not legit mil spec cordage at all 😕
Not legit gov manufactured paracord. After I bought it I heard a bushcraft guy on YouTube saying to avoid it if you can because it's only 7 strand with 2 braids instead of 3. Resulting in the tensile strength being more like 425lbs. I took it apart and no crap it's friggin 2 braid. It kinks and twists real easy. Also it squishes flat a stays deformed. Good for emergency cord I guess. I've now bought a roll of 550 from paracord planet on Amazon and that stuff is amazing. Paracord planet 550 is the real deal mil spec cord. This is the cord I would trust my life to. Atwood should say it's only 2 braid 7 strand.

WARNING!!! not 550lbs do not buy...
not 550lbs. rope is flat.the core strands have to work in conjunction with the outside shielding rope. but because the outside rope is loos and flat it will stretch and only the 7 strand core actually takes the weight.would not trust this rope with anything over 150lbs.be warned...

Next time I'll do a better research...
I see some critical comments about the product. I'm not sure anymore about it! I'm little bit confusing. Next time I will see with a real professional - what kind of rope I need for my special needs. In that way, I can't miss it! Be careful. Of course I'll do my research and get Great Quality. I think it's important to know much more about what we bought. at the end, it's our life it counts the most. This cord of course it could be useful, so this is I get and it's ok.

Will have to try others
7 inner strands as mentioned, though they seem to vary in size and when unraveled they fluff up more than seperate into 2 individual strands. Not knowing anything about paracord, I would say this is good cordage. Don't know if I'll ever have the opportunity to test its 550 lbs strength, but I don't believe this is military spec
