Dual purpose for me
I wear these gloves on my hands during summer while fishing long hours in my boat. Being a right handed golfer I wear a golf glove on my left hand. I also tried wearing a golf glove on my right hand but found I couldn’t get that hand in my pocket to get a tee or a ball marker. So I started wearing a Glacier Glove on my right hand. These gloves are light weight nylon, comfortable, wear resistant, and protect my hands from sun damage. Being an avid boater, water skier, tournament fisherman and golfer I should have thought of that many years ago.

nice addition for skin protection
Having had a couple pre-cancerous things removed I'm always on the hunt for clothing that will help protect me from the sun, especially when backpacking. I really dislike sunscreen. After seeing a review of these I decided to pick up a pair. They fit really well and allowed me to fish easily without having to remove them since the fingers were open. They dried pretty quickly as well. In the mornings they also provided just a little bit of warmth, but they were also very comfortable in the middle of the afternoon. As some other reviewers have said, the edge near the last knuckle will curl in with some use, espeically at the thumb. Some have cut that material away to reduce chaffing, which is an issue when using hiking poles. But they do their job. My hands were not burnt after 3 days in the back country and I didn't need to use sunscreen.

Used on a thru-hike, great sun and palm protection
I used these nearly daily on a month-long thru-hike of the Colorado Trail, which frequently goes above treeline; the sun up there can be brutal. When using trekking poles your hands are exposed and when you're hiking 10 hour days it's inconvenient and almost impossible to use enough sunscreen.Lots of people had gloves from other manufacturers (mostly Outdoor Research) but I prefer these because the palms are more durable without a huge change in weight. That's important when you're doing things like hanging bear bags - the rope can uncomfortably rub against your hands. There were also five or six big avalanche washouts that weren't cleared, so the palms helped when scrambling over branches and other debris. These didn't make me excessively hot and dried quickly. I even frequently left them on when I was dipping my hands in streams to get water to filter and when I had to climb snow embankments.Overall, I am very happy with these and will be using them in future hikes without even thinking about it.

Great driving gloves
I try to keep the sun off my arms and hands when driving and being a former long haul truck driver and now a motor home owner on the road full-time, protecting my hands from too much sun is important. These gloves are great for that; light weight, easy to put on and get off. Plus they provide some cushioning to the hands while holding the steering wheel for hours on end. I love these gloves.

Functional ideal for salt water fly fishing as well as fresh water
I fish salt >180 days annual, all with a fly rod, these gloves allow you to maintain rod control, dexterity and protect your hands - can't go wrong!

All Day Comfort & No Sunscreen!
I am what most people would call "hella white" and I am a master of being shielded from the sun. I used these gloves for bass fishing and I usually wear the nine-yards: long-sleeve shirt, buff, hat, sunglasses, pants, and shoes to stay out of the sun. Before I bought these I used to wear smear the stick sunscreen on the tops of my hands, but sometimes a lure or something would graze against it so it was annoying because I know the fish can tell somethings up, smellin' like sunscreen.I can wear these gloves all day in a 110 degree Texas heat with no problems. They're very comfortable and the grip really helps when you're t-rigging or something. Definitely gives some extra support for you.10/10 would buy again.

Glacier Sun Gloves (GG's) Have multiple Applications.
I like everything about the GG's. They are durable, protect both my palms (from dirt and all types of surfaces) and the backs of my hands and fingers from sun exposure. When I drive, the finger touch screen of my automobile's system is always available. I can work in them secure in the knowledge that if they are dirty, all I have to do is throw them in the was and they will come out ready to use. I average six to ten months with a pair before they begin to break down. I have used the gloves since they were nothing more than fabric with a thin rubber palm. They have improved the product immensely over the last ten years or so. I highly recommend this product.

Great product
Bought for my father-in-law who is sensitive on his hands to the sun. He loves them. He wears them every day and bought a second pair.

Using for PCT Expedition, good for sun protection
These gloves are great. I ended up ordering another pair since the ones that came had a small rip in the seam. When I talked with the support team on the phone, they were super helpful and understanding and send another pair right away.Using these for my 6 month expedition on the PCT trail. Great for sun protection, fits hands like a glove should (and I don’t have small hands), light breathable material, nice grey colour.
