Horrible Necessary Evil
I really hate this thing, but it serves a purpose. After a complete achilles tear, I needed to use this boot in conjunction with the iwalk 2.0 for a few weeks. The edge of the Aircast dug into my shin so badly that it caused my shin to bleed. As a psuedo-remedy, I cut up a neoprene mouse pad and inserted between my shin and the Aircast. Now, a month after surgery, I'm to the point where I'm supposed to be walking in this boot, but because of the almost 4" lift, I find it almost impossible. I have to walk on my toes on my good foot to even come close, but it's killing my toes, knee, and hip on my good side. Then, we come to the part about getting this boot on and off several times per day; it's a total nightmare. There's got to be a better design out there somewhere.

Best walking cast/CAM boot I've had (and I've had a few!)
Best CAM boot/air cast I've had and sadly, I've had 4. fits perfectly, durable foam, the front plastic guard helps to evenly distribute the tension and force asserted by the Velcro straps (which believe me, if you're in this for multiple weeks is important to both your skin and your shin bone). They are quite hot from the foam, but that's a problem with all of these cam boots - I bought an extra long tube sock on Amazon that goes up to my knee which really helped stave off the dermatitis you can get without that buffer; you can't completely prevent it if you're in it for a while (especially in the warmer weather) but they definitely help. Also, pick up some industrial strength Velcro that's about 2" wide - that bottom most strap won't have anything to attach to once you get your foot in there, but this is a little trick I figured out with a prior version of this boot dispensed by a doctor. And there is NO difference between this boot and the one I was given (at FOUR TIMES THE PRICE) by an orthopedic foot doctor so save yourself the co-pay or deductible and order this.

Comfortable but doesn’t last.
I’ve had this boot for about 3 weeks and it’s already showing wear and tear. The first issue I’ve run into is that the boot makes a squeaking sound when the heel hits and it has this strange feeling to it but that’s really not a large issue and definitely not why I marked this review so low.1. The Velcro where the boot wraps around your foot (the large gray insert) becomes less sticky and in some areas not very useful at all. Yes, Velcro will wear down but not this quickly.2. There are 3 straps to tighten and keep this secured. The top strap keeps coming unhooked from the tab when I tighten the strap. I’m not sure why because the strap and tab catch perfectly but it just loses contact every time. With that said, it’s extremely comfortable when walking so I do recommend it for that if you have an injury and your doctor says you can walk on it. But it’s definitely not easy to sleep on and I always remove it at night because it’s extremely cumbersome to wear when laying down.Just to be clear, I would give this 5 stars as it does it’s job well when it’s brand new. But it wears out far too quickly to make it a recommendation. My injury is a fracture in my foot and is likely a 6 week recovery so I’ll hopefully be okay but those with long recovery times may need to find a more longer lasting boot. Maybe this is why it’s so cheap compared to those at medical stores but I can’t confirm that.

Wonderful
My husband has had 7 surgeries on his leg after he fell 15 ft while building a house and broke his leg in 2 places, shattered his ankle and severed 2 tendons, after all the surgeries his leg is now deformed and is bowed, the only options we have are to get it amputated or stay in the medical boot. He doesn't want to amputate but the medical boots he has to customize because of his leg being bowed. This is the only book he can customize by taking a bit of the plastic off so the part that is crooked can fit it. He has tried many boots but this is the only one that works. We will definitely be buying again as he goes through them quite a bit. Reasonable price and fast delivery.

Don't waste your money at the doctor
I was having issues with my feet from an old Army injury. I wasn't getting support from the VA, so I saw a pediatrist on my own. They took x-rays and wanted me to spend a few weeks in a walking boot until I got new orthotics. The out of pocket expense from the pediatrist for a boot was going to be over $300. Initially I hoped to find one used on an app like Offer-Up, but no luck. The second fastest option was to pick one up on Amazon. The Aircast was a great option. It was a lot cheaper than going through the doctor. I later asked them about my choice, and they said that was just as good or better than the one they would give me. I used it for a few weeks, and then my stepson used it for a couple of months when he broke his ankle the following summer. Now I'll always have one in reserved just in case anyone has a snow boarding accident, or just falls down the stairs.

Not made well
This boot didn't hold up to everyday wear and tear. The seams of the liner are coming apart at the toe area. The adhesive that holds the liner to the boot was was loose after two weeks so the boot liner doesn't stay up in the boot.

Very comfortable and stable.
Very comfortable boot. The air bladders are a tremendous help for fit. I broke a bone in my foot and have been sequestered to a boot for 4 months. My first boot was a Breg, and it was not holding up, and didn't provide the support/stability needed to heal the bone in my foot. The Aircast boot has a solid foundation which keeps my foot stable. My personal opinion, if I would have started with this boot I would have healed much faster due to the stability and isolation. The boot can be a little warm since the body is mostly plastic. Upper portion fits inside the leg of boot cut jeans, so you can look almost normal when out and about. The walking cam is lower (show height) so there is less uneven gate, however the cam is long and can take a little getting used to walking with it. I would recommend this boot for walking comfort and stability.

Loving it
Bit heavy, but super safeguard for your injured leg. Very good build quality and super comfy. Can inflate both sides with the hand pump provided. Bought it for Rs 6550 from Exborders. Would recommend wearing a sock prior to using it. Amazing delivery. Made in Mexico product.

Solid brace
I retd this brace only because the leg part was too long for my mother. Otherwise it was easy to adjust to fit your foot, excellent padding inside the brace and a firm sole with grid to prevent slipping.
