Edison has undeniable talent. He's got taste in sidemen. These albums are a great example of his ability as a leader. One cd has Joe Williams singing but not the shouter, a smoother voice that lacks the charisma. But Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Freddie Green on guitar, Jimmy Rowles, Oscar Peterson, Kenny Drew, Hank Jones on piano, Buddy Rich, Alvin Stoller, Louie Bellson, Charlie Persip on drums and so many others make this cd special.
