Excellent product

I have several falkniven knives and each one is a gem in it's own right. Very high quality material and workmanship. I saw this knife and wanted a "usable" knife which meant the blade should be about 4 inches long and have a decent handle. I hoped that this knife would fit the bill. I had no doubt about the steel and edge, being familiar with the brand, but this knife is a real gem. Wicked sharp right out of the box, very good looking blade and the handle is more than large enough for my large hands. I would not use this knife for batonning, i.e. splitting wood, the knife is not built for that, although it is stout enough to be used for that in an emergency. This knife is excellent for fishing, camping and small chores that require a keen edge i.e. quick line cut and other general maintenance tasks.The sheath is the kydex version, which I prefer over the leather sheath. The knife snaps into the sheath and remains securely in place even without the snap restraining strap. If water gets into the sheath it can drain out the bottom and the sheath does not retain any moisture and require extensive drying procedures should it get wet like a leather sheath. Don't misunderstand, should the knife come with a leather sheath falkniven's leather workmanship is very high quality, I just prefer the man made material. It's fairly utilitarian and will not win a beauty contest, but it is extremely usable.Want an excellent, although costly, hunting knife? Look no further than this one. It's among the top of a the line.

The blade is expertly ground and the ergonomics are excellent. The drop point blade is very easy to sharpen and strop as you can do so in one stroke (with a gradual swivel). The convex edge paired with the powdered steel creates the most impressive edge I’ve ever seen. The spine of the blade is straight with the handle and very comfortable to hold when turning on something like an orange (peeling). The handle is comfortable and has a surface that provides more than enough grip wet or dry. As for the sheath, it can be worn on the belt or carried with paracord as a neck knife. It has a drain hole for those river crossings and holds the blade quite securely. It is, in my opinion, a work of art.

This is a wonderful knife. I also have the F1' but the slimmer blade profile of the TK2 makes carving and feather sticks a breeze. It will handle moderate baton-ing of wood if need be. The F1 is better would be a better choice for heavy abusive use as it has a stronger tip and thicker blade. I mainly use this as my go to around camp knife for fine tasks, starting fires with a ferro rod and food prep. The convex blade grind holds a scary sharp edge for along time. It can easily be stropped back to razor sharp edge in a few minutes. If this were my only knife in a survival situation, I would be in good shape.

Perfect size for long distance hiking and trail running. Feels great in the hand. Super sharp 3G steel blade with a point that would be a better self defense point than the point on the f1. And besides all of that it is simply a gorgeous knife. What's not to like? This is a lifetime companion.
