I was sure the saying "they don't make them like they used to" was true about safety pins because every single one I've gotten for the past couple of years seems to bend as I am pinning my quilts. I couldn't believe my luck finding these sturdy safety pins, I haven't bent one since I got them! Be warned, they take a bit of strength to open and close because they are very well made, but oh my gosh are they a dream! I can't believe I'm not having to bend pins back into shape anymore, I won't settle for any less after finding these beauties!

I use safety pins for so many things, they are extremely useful, that is why I got this gigantic box. This is my favorite size.

this is not one of your flimsy safety pins. Extremely strong and sturdy more than I needed for my craft projects, but was very happy I could buy in bulk.

I purchased these for a mission project. They were to be used to pin menstrual pads made of flannel fabric to underwear. The points on pins damaged the fabric because they weren't smooth. I ended up taking a metal file and filing them smooth. Also the heads on the pins weren't positioned in the middle so that the pins could be closed from both/either side. You have to close from whichever side is wide enough to hold the pin point.
