Some manufacturers use the letters NS, PL, H, AH and DEL-A-FLO.These letters all designate a spray pattern interchangeable with the 'A' designation for 'HOLLOW' flame pattern on Delavan nozzles. The BEST way to determine which nozzle to use is to look at the "RATING PLATE" on the equipment. It should list a range of nozzle sizes you can use based on the brand and type of burner you have.If you need to change to a different firing rate or angle you will most likely need to adjust the combustion air to get a clean & efficient burn. This may involve adjusting the air-band and/or air shutter. In some cases it may be necessary to adjust the fuel oil pump pressure also.
