One is ideal but it will hold two, they are just harder to take out when you need them. So, I have limited myself to one card per slot and my wallet is great. Another thing that I like is being able to carry my wallet in my front pocket. It took some time to use to. It's much safer for your info to be carried in your front pocket. If someone was to reach in front of me with a scanner, I would be able to see them. So, the danger of loosing your financial info is gone! I have ALL my credit cards - gas cards in this thing AND my identification in it. (About 12 cards in all). It fits in my front pants pocket which I love and I hardly know it is there. The quality of the leather is fantastic. I am about to order two more for my brothers -they will love it. Heck I may even buy myself another one in case I do something dumb with this one.
