Mizuno G4 Samurai Catcher's Helmet

Comfortable and fits my 13yo son well. We have used this brand for years and it always holds up to the punishment.

the design of the mask, gives the feeling of having the most professional, the plastic material looks a bit delicate, but it just needs to be tested over time, excellent grip, adjustability and very comfortable, buy 100% recommended ...

The mask seems to be pretty good quality but the very FIRST time I used this mask one of the screws fell out. Unfortunately I lost the screw and when I came home I found out most the the screws were in fact loose.Very disappointing...

Bought for my 12 year old daughter and fits great. The blue is not as pictured, it’s much darker.

Got it for my husband who umpires. He took a ball to the jaw/ear with a traditional mask, lucklily no damage, but it was a foul tip HS JV, if it was a higher level, it could have done some serious damage.So, I said more protection required...he picked this. A few days after getting it he came home and told me about a ball to the facemask. He said everybody was freaking out making sure he was ok, he said he barely felt it as the padding in the helmet absorbed basically the entire blow. He was sold!If you are a concerned parent or spouse of a catcher, or umpire, this is what you buy for them. Promise, you will rest easy, at least in this aspect.

I volunteer umpire for Little league from the 10-11 age bracket all the way through Senior Division. I transitioned from the standard mask to this helmet for the added protection due to the types of backstops we sometimes encounter in youth sports (many will return a foul ball at high speed from above or behind). This helmet has been very comfortable in hot weather and I find that I am a bit more relaxed behind the plate with it. I know some will not wear a hat under the helmet but I personally wear the short bill plate hat under this helmet. It works great, easy to remove without pulling off your hat. All around good deal.

The padding on the back side of the helmet came unglued resulting in loosing a piece of it.. For $120, i would have thought it would have been more durable!

Purchase this for my daughter who is an All-Star catcher in our local softball league. Not only does it look great on her, she says it is comfortable and strong. Very happy with this purchase
