Out of the box, the alt key occupies the position the apple command key does on Apple keyboards. The windows key occupies the position the option key normally occupies on an Apple keyboard. SInce the alt key is the same as the option key, it helped me to make it so the alt key behaved as the command key and the windows key behaved as the option key. My hands were trained from 30 years of using a Mac. Here's how to fix that. Go to System Preferences/Keyboard/Modifier Keys. Select USB Gaming Keyboard. Change the Option Key to Command and the Command Key to Option. Click OK and close System Preferences. Now your keyboard will be 100% compatible with Mac. **Q: Are the keys made of plastic or metal?** A: The keys are made of a hard black plastic, wrapped in a chrome like plastic. They are clicky too, like the old IBM keyboards. So even though they are not metal, they project that feel. **Q: Are the blue switches pretty loud? I'm looking for something fairly quiet** A: Yep. I've yet to find a mechanical keyboard that is quiet... great action though. Solid feedback while typing. **Q: Listing states (Blue Switch). Does this mean the keys are backlit in blue light?** A: Hello . The MK Retro currently does not ship with a back light. The blue switches is referring to the actual brand of the mechanical switch. Different brands have different color but for the most part blue switches will have a tactile feel with an audible sound.
