Working Conjure: A Guide to Hoodoo Folk Magic Paperback – September 1, 2018

This book is awesome. It is written so intelligently and in such a folkish kind of style. The rituals are so easy to follow. I mean unless you don't mind people watching you kneeling down and praying psalms at the crossroads or hanging voodoo dolls upside down in the cemetery. . . lol. What I like most is how he avoids trying to sell "mysterious" hoodoo oils and washes with mysterious names and instead gives you detailed instructions on how to do them yourself. In short, the book provides an excellent summary of the philosophy or principle behind hoodoo and then provides practical rituals that anyone can do or incorporate in their daily lives. I rate it A+.

This is a great book if you are interested in Hoodoo and you don't know where to start. Moise uses a very understandable anecdotes and makes an informative argument on the realiablity, history, and seriousness of hoodoo as a tradition. He is very detailed in his spells and explains step by step how to complete them as he's learned. He gives wisdom and personal advice as well as personal stories from his own experience. It's an easy read! If you're serious about learning hoodoo, you may want to get a notebook and take notes. I've found that helpful. I've found this book to be something like a beginners guide, and after finishing it, you will have basic knowledge of Hoodoo as a tradition, how to practice it safely, and instructions on performing the 'Work'.

Hoodoo Sen Moise teaches you some real magic and Conjure- Hoodoo in this wonderful book. He’s straight forward, down to earth and gets you all you need to get a great foundation and also get started working some Conjure for yourself. Another great part is that he grew up around this powerful work, which makes this book extra special, as it gives a rare insider’s view into this magical world and culture.The Author does an amazing job and gives you rare step by step recipes which you can use yourself. An excellent teacher, Hoodoo also gets in deep on some foundational cores of Conjure which are often glossed over.This book is a much needed asset to anyone interested in Conjure. Beginners and experts alike can gain from this volume.Absolutely loved this book and being involved in related Traditions, it gave me a clearer, deeper and better understanding of this particular path.Papa Houngan Hector

This is a well written book that with each chapter gives true praise to 35 years of experience from the author. Working Conjure begins with a brief history of how it was introduced to the American Culture but quickly jumps into the core of how working conjure is performed. Each chapter identifies a specific area of conjure from the importance and significance of both the materials required and the ways in which they are used. One does not need to have a prior knowledge of conjure to receive all the values this book contains. Working Conjure does well to identify the true nature of working with hoodoo and conjure through clear explanation of each step for why each is performed and does a perfect job of identifying true practice from misconceptions of movies and fictional stories. I am fortunate to have meet the author and have attended classes of his and this book is like have a personal class from him whenever I need a refresher, my only wish is to see more volumes from him.

As one on the search for their spiritual path, I came to find Sen Moise's new book. I CANNOT emphasize this enough, his book is EVERYTHING, by way of Conjuring, at its finest! I have gained so much insight, wisdom, and enlightenment through reading this book, that I am left completely inspired and empowered to move forward, armed and equipped with sound and well-steeped teachings! I'm certain, through Conjurer Moise's vast years of experience, he is quite distinguished in his craft, but he could have possibly missed another calling of his, when it comes to crafting such an articulate and personally-driven book! Reading it, truly felt like sitting at my dinning room table, sharing some coffee and cake, with a life long friend of mine, and conversating about our life's experiences. Literally read cover to cover in a few hours! Happy Buyer!!!

This book is amazing I highly recommend any and everyone to please grab this book, immediately! Just by reading this book switches the course of things. This is the most POWERFUL book ever made. It teaches everything, step by step , and give great examples so that you can have an understanding on how to do things. Love this book so much . Definitely a life changer.

The media could not be loaded. Great book. I keep seeing people say that certain books are for beginners and I don’t like to label books “beginner” or “advanced” because ever book has value and you will hear something you can use. This book brings lots of fantastic spiritual teachings to the table and I’m very happy with my purchase. There’s information for beginners and advanced in there. The only thing I can say that’s kind of a bummer is some of the things he includes for spell ingredients like 3 tablespoons of dirt from the grave of someone who died of a broken heart? Or dirt from the grave of someone who died a violent death or the fingernail clippings, hair or saliva from someone, if you don’t get along with this person how are you going to do that? Other then that part it’s a fantastic read.
