Review: Quieted a noisy drive - For the past year or so, I've been lived with a noisy hard drive. Not the end of the world, but annoying. This adapter perfectly quieted the drive. The computer is now whisper quiet even then it is right next to me. It does not come with any instructions, but is fairly straightforward to use. If you are the sort of person who knows enough to look for a 3.5 to 5.25 adapter, you probably won't have any issue installing it. The one issue I had with it was my PC case has a "easy" snap in place 5.25 drive holder, but the snap only works on the top level of screws on a 5.25 drive. From my experience, most real 5.25 drives have 4 screws per side. This adapter only uses two screws per side, and on the lower-level of the 5.25 drive. I was able to work around it, but it just made the install a bit more of a pain. I'm still completely happy with the purchase though. Review: This thing is amazing! - This thing is pretty amazing. It TOTALLY silenced all of the seek noises that my Seagate IronWolf 8Tb wouldn't stop making. Even when I wasn't using this drive, it would be noisy as hell. This isn't my boot drive, or even one of my main project drives. But it won't shut up. Unfortunately this product doesn't stop the drive from making the constant spinning sound. It will NEVER stop spinning, so I still get a CONSTANT whirring sound, even with this drive silencer. It only protects against vibrational noises, not so much against acoustic noise, unfortunately. Apparently this drive isn't meant to ever spin down(No APM feature), I'll have to find another drive, put it in an enclosure, or some way to manually shut it down.

Quiets the annoying noises from the newer hard drives
I’ve purchased four of these to quiet the annoying noises coming from my new hard drives. Most new hard drives have a sweep every 5 seconds to help promote drive longevity that is incredibly annoying. These mounts quieted that noise so that it can’t be heard outside of the case. Do note that the mounts protrude down from the base so that it may be a tight squeeze to install. Mount requires a 5.25” bay. Worth the money in my mind.

Effective noise reduction
The hard drive produces "clunk"... sound every 5 seconds (by design for longevity) when idle. Of course, the drive also produces sound during normal disk head movement during disk access (accessing your data on it). With this mount those sounds are significantly reduced. I did not expect to be this quiet especially the "clunk... clunk... " sound every 5 seconds (that is the most annoying thing). I can't hardly hear this sound anymore from the distance of about a meter or 3 to 4 feet away from the computer. Minor points: 1) Metal brackets are on a bit thin side. They are still strong for what their purpose. 2) There is no instruction included (need some searching to find instruction). There are two strips of IBM adhesive material included, there is no indication from what they are for until you find the instruction.

Bought new…got used and missing hardware.
Didn’t receive this NEW it’s used. Didn’t come with everything it showed either. Wrong screws as well.

Amazing product, it really works!
I bought 14TB WD Gold enterprise class HDD recently. Little did i know how obnoxiously loud it would be in my overall very quiet PC. It makes that clunky noise every few seconds, supposedly to prolong it's life, which was driving me nuts. I tried some DIY things, which all failed spectacularly. But then i found this little gem right here and my problem was solved! It's amazing how simple yet effective the design of this item is. Noise and vibrations are 90% gone, and i am very happy with my purchase. Best $11 bucks i've ever spent on my PC.

A cleverly engineered bracket for protecting internal hard drives.
I recently upgraded the hard drive in my desktop computer, significantly increasing the size of the disk’s memory. I decided for this markedly heavier device it needed an extra level of protection against vibrations and movements that might result in the drive being damaged. This shock absorber bracket is a very clever design, protects the hard drive from all angles and took me about 10 minutes to install, despite the fact it came with no directions. The unit itself requires no screws to put it together. The price also is priced well below what I was fearing I was going to have to pay. One feature I am pleased with is it accommodates an 8mm fan to be attached to the hard drive.

It was bent and missing parts
I ordered two. One 5.25" plate was bent. Neither had both iron protective covers shown in the image. Each only had 1 in the box so there was no way to mount a drive. The Amazon return process is phenomenal though. 5 Stars for Amazon.
