SKIL 9295-01 6.0 Amp 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder
Works great - good price I now know why this angle grinder is so popular. This angle grinder works excellently. With a cutting disc it cut right thru thin gauge metal with ease. It feels solid as well, and tbh it is fairly light weight and easy to grip. Ive read some say the power button is a bit cumbersome but almost right away I got used to it and its benefit is that it is very easy to power off. So basically what I like about this SKIL angle grinder -relatively light weight -relatively easy to handle / grip -handle can be screwed (threaded) on either side and the top (3 positions to attach the handle) -the wrench for changing discs is conveniently incorporated into the handle -smooth engine / smooth sounding and "feeling" when in operation -tried and true many many people use this grinder and most give it a high rating -good price -overall works great -if it should matter it looks cool (opinion) I highly recommend this angle grinder. It is relatively low priced, it works well and it is very ergonomic with its handle being able to attach three different areas (right, left, top), girth not too wide to comfortably grip and (again) it is relatively light weight. Comfortable to use. Id also recommend some over the ear hearing protection / attenuation it is pretty loud over the ear type will make taking on and off very easy (Walkers NR34 right here on Amazon work well fyi). Good stuff right here from SKIL. Highly recommended.

there are lies on the outside of the box, inside is pretty much what you were expecting for $30
First impressions, the day I received it: 1) the side handle doesn't seem to want to stay tight no matter how hard I tighten it. I can see that's going to need some thread-locker. 2) the measured current at idle was about 1.5 amps, when grinding correctly 3 - 4 amps. The only way I could get the current to approach the claimed "6 amps" was to effectively stall out the motor. "6 amps at stall" (Locked Rotor Current) is not a useful metric to anyone but an engineer. What the Federal Trade Commission requires to be on the nameplate is the Full Load Amps, not Locked Rotor Amps. So that part is a straight-up marketing lie and a violation of Federal Trade Commission regulations. 3) the "free grinding disk" is worth what you paid for it; it is too thick to be used for cutting, and too thin to be safe for grinding. It is literally 1/3 thinner than the "Central Electric" grinding disks I foolishly bought from HF. When you're pretending to be a national brand but you cannot do better than Harbor Fright, you are failing. 4) it seems a little quieter - while still new - than other cheap grinders I've had. Yet I know from experience what I will find inside the gearbox; a stiff "grease" that stays around the outside of the housing and never migrates into the actual gear surfaces. If you want to make a cheap angle grinder last 10X longer, take out all of that grease and replace it with a grease that will stick and flow. Worst case, you can mix some 90W gear oil into that stiff grease until it will reliably move around (slowly!) the gearbox, ensuring the gears stay properly lubricated. That will also keep those sloppy gears (full of backlash) quieter for longer. 5) the switch is a little hard to push into the "stay on" position. 6) I'm not fond of the "stow the wrench in the handle" concept. That's a solution in search of a problem. It's a lot harder to remove and replace it from the handle than just picking it up and setting it down on the bench. 7) the handle is supposed to be vibration-dampening, but I don't see how - I don't feel a difference between this one and my previous angle grinder. 8) the guard rotation latch is much easier to use than the screw-fastening of my previous grinder, tho still not as slick as the one on the $300 Milwaukee. Neither you nor I are in the market for a $300 angle grinder, now are we? And to be honest, I almost never need to adjust the guard. Everything else is the same as every other <$100 4" angle grinder.

Quality and Durability
When shopping for power tools, I always lean towards quality and durability. I want something that can handle the workload I will be doing. That means a full day of grinding, cutting, and sanding. Skill has a very good reputation for quality and durability. The product arrived on time, packaging was very good, and the tool exactly as described. Easy instructions to follow and it came with a grinding disc. (Good quality sales) Operation was straight forward and I was very impressed with the power, even under load, it functioned perfectly. Overall, it’s definitely a tool to have in your toolbox. Something that will last and will do the job it’s intended to do very well.👍👍

Great little grinder
Edit 10/7/2024 - I have used this grinder for a couple of years now and it has done everything I have asked to to - grinding concrete, sharpening mower blades, cutting square tubing, cutting deck screws, and more. It works great for me. The only downside is the on/off switch. It doesn't always stay locked in the "ON" position and sometimes won't lock.It might be just me not hiding it right. For what I do, it hasn't been a real problem. If this might be a problem for you, beware. I can't believe I waited this long to buy an angle grinder. I have been able to do without it, but this will make a lot of jobs easier. The main purpose for me buying this grinder was to grind some concrete on my screen porch. I purchased this grinder along with the HERZO Dust Shroud and the KSEIBI 644030 4-1/2-Inch Double Row Diamond Cup Grinding Wheel. They did the job great. The weak spot was the shop vac filling up with dust and the filter clogging. The Skil held up fine. It did get a little warm after 10 minutes or so of steady grinding. It cooled off as I emptied the concrete dust. If you need a grinder for jobs around the house, I wouldn't hesitate on this one.

Skil, the unsung quality brand
Pleasantly surprised again with Skil and the quality of the tool for the price. Does the same job and the more expensive brands if not better. Nice to have a quality tool without the extra cost for advertising.

Super durable and very well built.
This grinder went through very hard times as I’ve been sanding 100 year old barn wood(fir) non-stop. 10 inch wide planks and 16 feet long…tons of hours and this machine is still going strong. Absolutely love it.
