looms & weaves - 100 % Pure & Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder from Kerala - 250 gm

This a very nice jack-of-all-trades cocoa, meaning it can be used for anything: cakes, hot chocolate, muffins, pancakes, puddings etc. it gives a good chocolatey taste, color and aroma that is satisfying. It is what a quality standard cocoa should be. For those with a preference for a dark, intensely chocolatey cocoa taste then this is not it. The box says it is natural cocoa and its color is on the lighter side, which I am assuming means that it is not processed with alkali like Dutch cocoa, and that the beans were not heavily roasted to give a darker color. Kinda like coffee. I like this cocoa - it's tasty, reasonably priced and grown in India so cheers for that! It's stuffed to the brim into a tin with two lids, and that is a little tricky. A slightly bigger tin with room to manoeuvre a spoon would be nice.**To be clear, when you open the tin, the cocoa is a lighter color but when cooked, it turns a rich, dark chocolate color but the taste is not overwhelmingly chocolatey. I say this by way of comparison with stronger cocoas which I personally do not prefer. This one is just right.

This was a life saver. I was looking for many years for pure cocoa and all I could find was overpriced stuff (which is mostly refined sugar) trying to pass off as cocoa from multinational crooks like Cadbury’s. Then one day, I saw this on Amazon and the reviews were good so I decided to try it. My daughter just loved it and ever since we have been regular customers. Now whenever her friends drop in at home, you can be sure the delicious smell of cocoa will soon be in the air as it’s a favourite with all the kids. I also like the classy packing. In fact, the only thing I don’t like is I didn’t notice the special offer of two 400 packs for ₹599 when I ordered a pack yesterday. What was surprising was that I was looking for cocoa from far places, but found it in my backyard. My mother stills lives in the city where Looms & Weaves is based. She used to grow it in our farm when I was kid, and it turns out ‘looms and weaves’ is a women owned social enterprise. It reminds me of that old story about the man who cried and cried for help, and when finally the help came, it came from within him!

Quality wise the product is very good. Best part is that it doesn't have any sandy grains or stone powder in it (which I found in the product that I bought from my local store).But the packaging must be improved. All the cushioning material was placed on one side so, while in transit the product's box got damaged on the other un-cushioned side.It would be recommended to use the cushioning material on either side of the packaging and place the container in between, so that the box doesn't get damaged further and it might reduce the chances of spilling of the product from the container.

One of the best cocoa that I have tasted. Works good with baking, and the taste with milk is awesome.Good for health and for cough n cold.

I just love it with almond milk or oat milk.

The product is great but the price is not justifiable. One year back I brought it at Rs 460 / 400g. I would go for 3 stars just because of the price hike.

This Cocoa Powder is full of flavour and tastes very dark chocolaty. Top notch quality cocoa from Kerala. It’s a must try just the pricing is a bit more than the actual value.
