HP K5400 Officejet Pro Color Printer

Printer is a little too bulky and prints slowly in comparison to other HP printers. Print quality is good. HP claims that printer saves on printing cost because of the multiple ink wells. Printer arrived without a cable causing another week of delay to set up the printer.Choose another printer. Nothing special about this one!

This was used and came with a used black cartridge but required a lot of cleaning cycles. These all use ink and was a waste. However it shipped very fast and was otherwise in good condition.

We bought this to run a few thousand cards (3X5") per year Also use it as a standard printer a few hundred pages per Month. It's lighning fast and the ink lasts forever. We bought a second to replace another printer that runs maybe 5,000 color pages a year and have never had a problem with either one. There is an occational misfeed on the small cards but it prints 60 per minute! I know a large competitor is using a much faster printer but it cost $1,200 and the cost per page in consumables in much higher.

The K5400 I received was to be a replacement for my old K5400 which has a defective page feed. (I removed a paper jam and destroyed the paper feed, apparently.The new K5400 doesn't install, however. I use the downloaded driver, OJProK5X00_Basic_8_3, but I keep getting a screen: "Installing Officejet Pro K5300/5400 series ... Overall Progress- Checking System (Step 1/4) 28%"which stays on the screen indefinitely (several hours) with no further action.I want to return this. Please send return label. [email protected]

I have my K5400 for over a year and it has been a dependable printer execpt for a time when I had the "door open" issue. It stopped doing it after placing something of weight on top of the printer and now it doesn't do it at all and I don't have to put anything on top. It must have been a software issue that HP must have cleared up with an update. The ink is expensive and I asked before I bought it at Staples what other expenses would be incurred. The person at Staples told me that the print heads would wear out and have to be replaced. He also gave me the price to replace and realizing the future cost, I still went ahead and made the purchase after examining the total cost to run the printer for business for the next couple of years, compared to the price of a color laser printer. Buy the ink cartridges that are marked XL as they have more ink in them (although they cost more- better value). I am pleased with the two-sided feature which works great and saves me $$ on paper as I can print on both sides. It prints labels and envelopes with good quality and ease.I would recommend this printer.

I am disappointed in my HP K5400 Officejet Pro Color Printer. The output is fast, but the colors are not true. There is a dullness and no mater how you adjust the color balance, the colors are distorted.

NOT IN GOOD SHAPE AS DESCRIBED.

The article took a while to arrive but it works perfectly.
