Max's Breakfast (Max and Ruby)

The Max and Ruby series is one of my favorites! I read these to my kids, and now I read them to my grandkids! Simple stories that are fun and clever! Little kids love them, and adults do, too.The original books were smaller with brighter colors. These are the same books, but they are slightly larger and the colors are a bit more pastel. Not sure what went into the decision to make these changes. However, overall the books remain delightful.

I was so happy to find this book. My toddler watches the Max's Breakfast episode from the first season over and over again.

All Max and Ruby books are great for little ones. I read this to my 15 month grandson while he was in his high chair waiting for breakfast. The next day I read it again and as soon as he saw it he said in my funny voice”bad egg”. Cracked us up. Book is good up to age 5 or so. A bit difficult to read aloud as there are no quotation marks

I don't know what it is, but Max and Ruby are so timelessly appealing. This board book is short with very little text, but it has enough going on with the pictures and the storyline that my daughter can spend a lot of time having fun with it again and again. I read it for her (she's 3) and she "reads it back" to me as a bedtime storybook. As a picky eater herself she identifies with Max's dislike for the egg...

Tiny members of our family have been enjoying Rosemary Well's board books for almost 40 years. Parents (who have to read them over and over and over) love them, too!

Cute. 2 year old loves Max and Ruby. The book, though, doesn't hold his attention as well as a lot of his other books.

when it's time for bed and you need a quick read, these books are great. You're finished in a minute and your little one is happy.

I wasn't certain my daughter would like this one (she's two) but the pictures are entertaining and when I read with emphasis and inflection she gets a kick out of it.

Each page including cover is hardcover and the book is very short. It is a good short read for your children (recommended around 1-7) I feel as each page contains about one sentence. Drawing is very gentle and attractive especially and a must-get if you're interested in Max & Ruby from TV series as well.

ストーリーは、朝ごはんに卵を食べなさい、食べないと苺は食べちゃだめ！という姉Rubyと卵が嫌いなMaxのやり取りです。卵を隠したり自分が隠れたり。落ちがあって、結局マックスが卵を食べずに苺にありついてオシマイ。大人からはごくごく単純であっけないくらいですが、そこが分かりやすくていいのかも。この本のせいもあってか、1歳9か月の娘は苺がブーム。1日1パック食べています。卵が嫌いというのは、個人的には不思議な感じがします。Maxは結局食べないし、BAD EGG！とあからさまに嫌がります。娘には卵アレルギーがあるので、食べたいと思ってくれなくって構わないのですが、もし卵を食べないと言われたら困る、という場合には、読み方にちょっと注意が必要かもしれません。Max&Rubyのbedtimeを出産祝いでもらって、長い事気に入っていたので、new suitsとbirthdayをこれと同時に買い足したのですが、いまはこのbreakfastの受けが一番というか、ほかは読んでも聞いてくれません。これだけは、（Breakfastなのに）寝る前にも、寝起きが悪いので大泣きの朝にも、にこにこと眺めます。Where's Max hiding?と聞くとにっこりしてピッとマックスの足を指しているので、きっとストーリーは分かっているのだろうと思います。

It's Max and Ruby. It's a classic!!!!! My daughters love this book.
