Severely outdated, but okay for a jumping-off point
I purchased this book to get me started with homeschooling my 9th grader as an option for health class. It covers all the topics I needed it to, but we've only been able to use about half of the activities because many expect the student to find the answers from an unspecified source. For example, page 4/activity 3 expects information from the American Lung Association to assist with completing a quiz on surveys that conclude with the percentages of Americans who smoke cigarettes each day and the like. These figures were from 2004. Other activities reference products that neither my teen nor I have ever heard of, such as Coldene tablets, Pepsodent, Anacin, Jolt cola, etc. I appreciate that the answers are in the back of the book, but we skip over many of the activities because they are just too unrelatable or inaccessible.Overall, I'm glad we have the book because it gives me an idea of what to include in the class and inspires me to create my own projects, but an updated version would be much appreciated.

No info just worksheets
There is no info in this book to go with the worksheets. I was looking for a health class book for my teen. The info is outdated, nothing to read to get answers from, just worksheets. Don’t buy this for homeschool

Not completely what I expected
The book is good for activities on each subject but lacks the knowledge behind the activities. You will need to acquire that information on your own. The activities are fun and engaging though.

Life Skills = New teacher (or class) Lifesaver!
Wow! I placed my order yesterday and selected the online @2.99 upgrade option. Within minutes of placing my order, I found and copied fun, creative activities to use this week! I am a FACS teacher and just started at a new school with new classes, including Health which I am teaching for the first time. I only wish I had discovered this 3 years ago when I was brand new to High School teaching and taught a relationships class with no instructional materials at all; no books, lesson plans, pacing guide, files, etc. This book will significantly decrease my time spent researching creative ideas online and/or developing them from scratch. Thanks!

Lifeskills Teaching Resource!
Because of the nature of teaching and the student levels: the Lifeskills works well with various grade levels from upper intermediate, high school and adult students! I use the worksheets all the time with different classes each year.

Fantastic Health course for my 7th grade daughter.
She loves it! And what I love about it, is it's relevant to today's concerns and issues. I think this is a much better curriculum than anything you'd find in public school.

Life Skills Not For Kindle
While this book has some great activities anyone considering purchasing it should keep in mind that there is no way to access the activities for print if you buy the Kindle version. I wish I could return it and purchase a hard copy for my child.

Excellent Book - But Useless On A Kindle
This is an excellent book of resources for Life Skills teachers. I made the mistake of purchasing it for my Kindle. Since my Kindle (like most people's) doesn't have a print function, I can't use the book the way that it is intended. It makes no sense for it to be available in that format. I can copy some of the text, but lose all of the formatting. If you teach special needs students, buy the print version!! It has a great variety of activities that are well suited to my student's level.Anyone know how to get a refund for a kindle purchase?
