Standard Directory of Proof Marks Paperback – January 1, 1985

I had been searching for a good copy of this reference book for a while and it has been in regular work since it arrived as described and probably in better condition than described. Fast service.

The book was recommended by an instructor. Being a Certified Firearm Specialist it’s a book you should not be without.

EXCELLENT REFERENCE BOOK FOR SOMEONE RESEARCHING PROOFMARKS. LOTS OF HISTORICAL INFORMATION ON THE PROOFING GUNS IN EUROPE.

Very common markings are missing. If I know of and have seen myself many common markings that are not present in the book, how many more markings which I do not know are also missing?

I'm a novice at this, so I'm sure I don't understand all that I should regarding the organization of this book. However, as a rookie, it seems as though I'll have to hunt through the book for the correct picture in order to identify the manufacturer. I wish it could be indexed somehow for ease of information retrieval.

I work on alot of firearms and some of the books I have didnt have some of the little details this book has. So far I found everything I'm looking for,Also It isvery interesting just knowing where they came from.VERY GOOD!!

A very useful book. Absolutely indispensable to firearms owners/collectors. I liked mine so much, I bought an extra one that I gave to my favorite gunsmith. Made him very happy, also - says he uses very often.

This is obviously only of interest to collectors and is hardly light reading. Of great interest source of information and hard to find this side of the pond. Although available in the USA, postage isnusuall prohibitive.
