Great booklet! Too bad color photography wasn't available back in 1910.
Great collection of black and white photos! The captions are reasonably informative. You can learn a lot about these ships from the photos and associated captions. Perhaps not surprisingly, there are many photos and discussions of the ships' turrets and heavy guns.In looking at several of the photos, it seems that the German battlecruisers had relatively low freeboards. When steaming at full speed, the bow waves almost came to the tops of the forecastles. I wonder how well these ships would have performed in the heavy seas In the North Atlantic.Page 71 contains a brief tabulation of dimensions, displacements, armament, armor thicknesses, machinery horsepower and speed, crew size, construction cost, commissioning dates, and fate (mostly scrapped after WW I).

Great pictures of WWI German Battlecrusiers. As the author states, a supplement to Gary Staff's great work on them.!

German large Cruisers
I am a great friend of the Imperial German Navy and the large Cruisers belong to my favorite ships. Despite the fact that the photographs are more than 100 years old the pics are large and of a very good quality. ( e.g the Cruiser " von der Tann " at Spithead in 1911 ).The book offers a good overview of these German large Cruisers and I am glad I could get it
