D Key Dizi Bitter Bamboo Flute for Beginners with Free Membrane & Glue & Protector Set Traditional Chinese Instrument（Key of D/Bitter Bamboo）

In the pic, you can see that I'm hanging mine from a wall. Anyway, I've played it a little and it works well. I used to play the western classical flute, and so it was pretty easy to pickup. I will say the dimu thing or whatever its called, was fiddly, and gave it a sound quality like a bad kazoo. But I used a square of packing tape, and now it sounds perfect to my ears. Either way, it's super nice so far.

At first I though the flute was bad in quality because I couldn't play it even though I tried constantly (yes, even after tutorials), but once I got the hang of it, It produced a very beautiful sound considering its price. It's perfect for beginners, and by that I don't mean it doesn't sound as "rich", but that it's structured in a way that you can easily adapt to the instrument. Would definitely recommend, especially if you want to play it as a hobby.

The dizi (bamboo flute) came inside a very nice padded case. The case is shrink wrapped as well. Inside the case, it has a red velvet bag for the dizi. It is long enough to cover the full assembled length of the dizi. The dizi came in 2 parts. The connection is tight but still not too hard to connect and disconnect. There is also a red tassel for you to hang at the end for decoration. It also came with a packet of membrane and glue for you to cover the 2nd hole. It is a little tricky to glue it. The first time I did, the membrane came off after it was dried. I applied more glue and water to glue it back. It seems to be sticking now. Some advices I found online suggest beginners to use scotch tape, which is much easier although the sound produced maybe a bit different. I don't have scotch tape so I had to do it the hard way.... There is also a finger chart included for you to learn how to play. I have never played before. I watched some YouTube videos and was able to figure out how to make a sound in less than an hour. It is a bit tricky. It seems I have to blow the air a little differently for each note to make a sound. It'll take awhile to figure out.... The dizi looks beautiful and without cracks. It produces a decent sound. For a beginner who have never played dizi, this fits my budget and I'm happy with the quality.

While never having played a Dizi or a transverse flute, I was able to place the Dimo (membrane) somewhat correctly and with the help of YouTube and H.H. Lee's book "How to Play the Dizi, the Chinese Flute" I was able to get some sounds! The more I've been playing and working on my embouchure and breath (you don't have to blow hard! Something I've learned with the Shakuhachi), the more the notes sound possibly like they should. While I'm still going to give a 5 star, it looks like there was a crack at the blowing hole that was repaired and then lacquered over. You can see the line but I don't feel a vibration or loss of tone. (Hard to say though as a beginner, lol) I have not played with a tuner to see if it's in tune, but will update when I do. Any way, I'm thinking of ordering the G key. Very pleased, now I have to play more. :) *** Update as of November - I ordered a Dizi in G from the same seller in black bamboo and it is great too. After applying the Dimo and getting used to a different sized blow hole, I was able to play this flute as well. This time, I had my tuner app going and with the right breath the flute is perfectly in tune. Same thing with the flute in D. So much fun to play.

Looks great! But my flute did NOT come with the gelatine stick and membrane pieces. Anyone else have this happen??

Plays well, if you are not familiar with a flute it will take you time to muster up a sound.

Do not buy this. It is crap. Will not play.

I just got my Dizi today and I couldn’t wait to put it together and play it. I have no background in any wind instruments (only strings) and I have to say, blowing is hard. I learned that if there’s no sound coming out of the flute, it’s because you’re blowing into it wrong. I’ve been practicing for about 30 minutes and I barely have a stable sound but that just comes with practice :3 after I get my scales and sound down I’m gonna learn Sadness and Sorrow from Naruto and then venture out into other OSTs

Die Flöte ist sehr schön, aber was man sich als Europäer von einem traditionellen chinesischen Instrument wünscht, ist Tradition pur. Der Koffer ist schön auf traditionelle gemacht, modern ist natürlich der Reißverschluss, der erstmal praktisch ist und nicht stört. Was stört ist leider der Gestank von dem Stoff in dem Koffer, der so typisch für chinesische Produkte ist. Schade. Was weiter auf der wunderschöne Flöte aus Bambus ist, sind die Plastikstreifen. Irgendwie ein Bruch... Trotzdem ein schönes Instrument.

El artículo llegó en tiempo previsto. Buena calidad en sonido y acabados, además de venir en un estuche de buen acabado. Excelente precio en relación a calidad.

Absolutely amazing. Of course I'm no pro when comes to the Dizi but it's pretty neat. Takes some time to master the sound but def in love with it. Hehe I'll be fluting people's ears off 😅. I've never tried this kind of flute before so I thought it would be fun to try one. The price was decent. It comes with all the items you need, including membrane (Dimo) and a black glue stick which you can rub around the opening after you touch it with some water. I added a bit of scotch tape over half the topmost hole to correct the tuning. With that I find it plays the locrian mode and I can't adjust it higher or lower, but it is a proper scale and that's something I can work with so I'm happy.
