This holds my Dashcam in place on my Dash without sliding around. I don't know why dash Cam are sold to stick on wind shield and are called Dashcams when they are made to stick on window. I have another for my trailer backup camera as well. No more windshield circles from suction cups.

I have a nice cell phone holder for my car (was a gift) but I can't use the suction cup (surfaces are textured not smooth) and I didn't want to stick adhesive on my car surfaces (ruin the surface or bad cleanup). This product works exactly how I expected. It's heavy enough to stay put and support the outstretched arm of the cell phone older. The base of the cell phone holder also fits perfectly in the space in between the "sand-bag". The bottom of the sand bag is clingy plastic and leave no residue or marks on surfaces. I sometimes take corners aggressively and my phone in the holder doesn't move while in this product. Wish it were a bit less expensive, but definitely worth the purchase. BTW I stash this under my driver's side seat when I'm parked or not using the holder... crooks may break into my car if this were visible all the time... it's the Bay Area...

I like the way my dash cam attaches to this, but the anti-slip part leaves a lot to be desired.

Using this for a dash cam. Previously always had to remove from the windshield to put up sun screen. Additionally, many times the cam would lose suction on the windshield and fall off. The dash cam sticks very well to the dash mount and the dash mount stays where it is on the dash over bumps, curves etc. Remember to take the protective film from the top of the mount and remove the paper on the bottom to expose the rough surface.

Unfortunately, this device isn't engineered to stay in place for more than about 10 or 15 minutes at a time -- whether in hot weather or in cold. You'll find that your Garmin unit will come loose and generally end up on the floor of your car -- which is fine if you have a passenger-seat companion to continually reattach it but not so great when you're driving alone. Plus, when the Garmin comes crashing down you may find yourself just a little startled, while in the midst of navigating traffic -- not a good combination. One word: Avoid.

When matched with a short mounting arm, the pad allows the GPS to sit low on the dashboard so as to not obstruct any of the driver's vision. The cut low front allows the GPS to sit vertical, to avoid wash-out from sunlight. The weight and the friction bottom keep the GPS in place regardless of the movement of the vehicle.

Better than windshield mount, easy to place on dash.

I didn't get the item that I ordered, the 1 I received was twice as big and doesn't allow for the dashcam/GPS to tilt down sufficiently for the camera. I didn't return it as I couldn't be bothered. The one I received isn't good quality hence the poor star ratings.
