An incredible value!
I bought this fountain pen on the recommendation of a friend who had purchased one.The Moonman Wancai Mini fountain pen is an excellent writer. The steel nib is much smoother than many more expensive "name brand" pens, puts out a steady, wet line of ink, and gives just a hint of feedback while writing that I like. The pen is very short, but the cap posts by screwing onto the end of the barrel and that creates a good length for writing. The Wancai Mini has a wide girth, so even someone with larger hands will find it comfortable to hold, and coupled with the light weight, this is a pen that can be used for extensive writing sessions. The eyedropper fill means that there is no mechanism to fiddle with; one simply unscrews the grip section with the nib from the barrel, and then use the eyedropper to fill the barrel directly with ink. The 0-ring in the threads provides a secure seal: this pen has *never* leaked despite after being in my pocket all day with much walking around. All in all, this is one of my favorite pens: well balanced, the fit to my hand is perfect, the ink supply is ample (several days of extensive writing), and an excellent writer. Easily the best mini-pen I've ever purchased, and now I have two!

Sturdy, compact, doesn't clog
Lovely tiny size. Sturdy and compact. I bought it as a replacement for a previous one I lost. Held up well for over a year of daily use. Doesn't clog at all with loose fountain pen ink. Because the lid screws off and onto the back, it goes from less than palm length to short, but comfortable when the lid is on vs off. Even once used straight shellaced India ink, which isn't recommended as the shellac makes it difficult to clean and it dries very quickly. Got more than halfway through a full chamber of ink before I got too frustrated with the amount of nib cleaning and how prompt I had to be with recapping. I've flown with it several times, and would recommend washing the nib and opening it over a sink after an airplane flight, but I've never had a leak escape the pen all together. I can't attest to its performance with the ink capsules, as I only used them briefly, and prefer using ink from a bottle to reduce waste.

Great product
A favorite mini fountain pen. Inexpensive enough to have several for having more than one ink ready to go. Easy fill. Pleasant to use.

No clip; nib is okay; otherwise great.
Beautiful AND pragmatic: what else can I ask for?The acrylic is comfortable to hold, the threading/seals are solid, and the design is well-executed. My only only complaints are the roll-factor as there is no clip or bezel to keep this from rolling onto the floor, and I don’t love the nib.I made the mistake of overlooking the roll-factor, as I understood the Moonman n1 2019 edition DOES have a bezel to protect it. As this was my mistake, I have not weighed this against the overall rating of the pen; just something to be aware of.Regarding the nib: it isn’t bad, but compared to the nib on other more affordable pens I have used, it is considerably cheaper feeling and doesn’t have quite as much give as I like. This may be a matter of wearing it in a bit or simply a matter of preference. I don’t know. In any case, I am definitely considering after-market nibs and suggest you do the same.Overall, I love the simple elegance of the design and the consequent aesthetic allure. The utility of a large ink capacity on such a compact demonstrator cannot be overstated, and the ability to swap to cartridges in a pinch is nice too. Within a smart ink pairing, this pen is a gem to look at and feels great too.*bill for scale*I’ve found other images distorted my perception; hopefully that helps. After a good bit of using the pen, it seems the cantankerous nib didn't sort itself out and has actually gotten worse. As I mentioned before, consider an aftermarket nib. Upon closer inspection, the quality of cut on this nib is not something that can really be fixed and in my view, not tolerated. Since there are still so many great qualities of this pen, my rating remains at a four, but my after market nib is in the mail. These pens take a JoWo #5.

Not for beginners
This is a toy rather than a serious fountain pen. The use case is something you want to carry in a pocket without worrying about it leaking, for quick notes and because you already own all the other fountain pens out there.Pros: It holds a lot of ink, the nib is quality, it has a small foot print (can also be a con depending on the state of your desk), and it’s lightCons: Only uses bottle ink, no converter, no cartridge (tried both), it’s body is resin, so it will crack, and there is nothing to stop the ink from coming out if that happens, it is not that comfortable for long writing sessions, and the fine nib is really a fine nib - to the point of extra fine.If you know how to use and take care of a fountain pen, this is a nice extra, but not for first timers, or those that need brass barrels (you know who you are).

There is a reason why I collect Wancai Minis.
About two years ago I got my first Moonman Wancai Mini which was my first fountain pen. I was intrigued because it was so small and cute looking. Little did I know that these fountain pens are not only beautiful, they are phenomenal workhorse writers, the nib is perfect right out of the box. Not scratchy or anything. Smooth with a beautiful fine line. I use them as eyedroppers and also with the mini cartridges which I just refill with my own ink. I have three now, and there is never a time that I don’t have one of them inked up. Also, my first Wancai Mini I bought as my first fountain pen two years ago is STILL absolutely beautiful, writes like a champ and is a joy to own. You won’t regret buying this pen.

Very Impressed
This is one of those rare products that far exceed expectation. The pen is very confortable to write with and the entire writing experience is as nice as usin pens that are 20 times more expensive but not as portable, Will buy more pens from this brand.

Petite beauty
My rating is for how good this looks and for not needing cartridges or converters to use it. My hands are not large so the size is quite comfortable for me, though it does need to be posted to be usable. It starts a tad dry and scratchy, but does get wetter and smoother as you continue to write, and to its credit, does not skip or blob. Price is on the high side, for what it is, but on the whole, I'm happy with it.

Colleagues are envious
This is a small, discreet yet beautiful fountain pen that I use all the time. When my colleagues notice that I am using it, almost the first thing they say is "Is that a fountain pen? I think I should get something like that". I wish it had a wider nib, but on the whole, I really like using it.
