This is a nice heavy welding jacket. I took the advice of some reviews and ordered a 3XL (6'3 230#) and it fits great. I normally wear XLT or 2XL depending on brand, but this 3XL is not sloppy and a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt can be worn under it if need be. It is very pungent from the tanning process, so I hung mine on the porch for a couple weeks to let it air out. I really like it.

I received the welding jacket and instantly appreciated its heft and durable leathery appearance. It appears to be well constructed and will survive me wearing it when doing my hobbiest version of welding against splatter, dripping slag, and welder's sunburn. It came with the expected aroma of recently tanned leather but having worked around livestock years ago I don't find that to be objectionable. The bit of advice I didn't heed was that they tended to run a little tight. If I was younger and trying to show off my shoulders it would be perfect. Unfortunately it reminded me that gravity is an issue for seniors and pot-bells do develop. I bought the extra large to encase my 67 inch frame as well as the 200lbs that I have gotten down too during the summer; I'm a chunk. The Thunder Coat will help me stick to my diet and I'm glad it has a strong hook 'n pile closure to assist in the snaps being a bit stressed. Yes I would recommend it. It's construction and quality are good enough for this hobbiest. For a proper evaluation I must leave that to the professionals but I'd buy it again and it will certainly out last me.

I use this for raku (type of pottery) firings- I needed a jacket that would protect my upper arms from the heat of the kiln. I had previously used just the Kevlar arm protectors and an apron. This jacket shields my upper body from the heat very nicely. It's comfortable, heavy (in a good way), and easy to move around in. The Velcro closure in addition to snaps is a nice touch- I was surprised how much easier it made getting in and out of the jacket. I normally wear a women's size small to medium. I got the medium in this jacket knowing it would be large on me- it fit as I expected. I wanted the extra room and am very pleased with the fit.

Great durability and protect well

Excellent I would buy again does very well. It isn’t as hot as I thought it would be weld. Splatter is not burning through my sleeve. Awesome. We’ll buy another one when needed.

This is a good heavy leather welding jacket. The outlay of the pockets is nice. The velcro plus snaps along the front is a little different that I am used to in a welding jacket. You need to be careful when fastening it up. Overall sized a little small. I usually order a 2XL in order to get a looser fit, this one is just about right without wearing much under it. That makes it harder to use in cooler weather (warm layer under it would make it hard to move in it. Shoulders are a little tight. I am 6' and 230 lbs. Typical middle age shape. Overall the coat is well made and if I was keeping it for myself, I would order at least a size or two larger. I decided to pass it along to my son who is a typical skinny teenager of 6'2" and thin. Fits him just about perfect with room for some insulation under it for working in the winter welding.

Don't do a lot of welding, but this jacket fits me well and provides protection from heat and weld spatter. It is relatively heavy which shows the leather is reasonably thick and durable.
