5/30/26 Amazon Basics 16-inch Quiet DC Motor Standing Floor Fan for Bedroom, 12 Speed with Remote, 3 Breeze Modes, Adjustable Height, Dual-Layered Blades, Timer, Energy Efficient (28W), White: Recommend Exactly as pictured and described. This fan is SILENT on the lower speeds; the higher the speed the whooshing sound does increase. Yet even on speed 12 it is quiet enough to watch TV or listen to music without an issue. It was easy to put together; the fan cover was a little more tricky. You only get 1 screw, which is what's required. Read the instructions. I prefer the beeps it makes with changing speeds or any other functions; it is not loud at all and shouldn't interfere with other sleepers. It has a lighted display that goes blank in a suitable time and is not an issue. The fan's height adjustments work well. The oscillation is only about 90%. And the remote works well; it controls the speed (who needs 12 speeds?), on and off, oscillation on and off, and the breeze (whatever that is). It very stable and seems sturdy. I will edit this review if any problems arise. My fingers are crossed (I read the low reviews and it was a concern.) I do consider the price high, but heck it has 12 speeds and it worked right out of the box. ;-) I am very pleased with this purchase.

You know how, when you angle a fan to blow at you, after a little while, that constant flow of air gets a little uncomfortable? Well, I don't know how I missed this specific feature of this fan, but it has a "nature" mode where the fan cycles periodically through the different fan speeds to vary the flow. This has been a revelation to me! It is really a wonderful feature and feels almost like a "natural" breeze, rather than just a constant flow. I've never heard of such a setting on a fan, and this is really fantastic. There are an additional 2 modes: one, where it's just like a normal, constantly-blowing fan; and another, called "sleep" where it cycles through the low and medium speeds. These mode functions are really cool! I didn't know fans could do that! The build quality is really solid. It's actually a much heavier fan than I was expecting. Not so heavy that it can't be easily moved, but it feels really solid and stable. The base is smaller than other fans I've seen, but it is heavy enough that it still is really stable without wobbling around. It wasn't difficult to put together at all, though I did have to set the grill a couple of times in order to line up the label properly. It's not a criticism, and if you don't care about that sort of thing, you can just slap the grill (cage?) on any old way. I'm not sure what the function of the little blades that go on top of the larger blades. Don't really know what it does... But I'm surprised at how quiet it is. Much quieter than even my window fan and little desktop fan. I'd say the size is kind of medium-large, but it really moves air like a larger fan! The oscillation is wide, too, and the head can be angled quite high and low. This isn't a wholly "budget" kind of fan, but it's not too expensive either. I'm really pleased with it - as a kind of step up from my old cheapie fans. Highly recommended!

Great purchase...is sooo quiet, and pretty powerful. Remote use so pretty comfortable. The light turns off while working so during the night doesnt even bother you...totally worthy

I was surprised at how good it was for the price. Good air flow and quiet. I would have liked to have about 2 more adjustments to the angle and found the location of the ir sensor to be poor. I found that sometimes the remote control didn't function and determined that the reason was that the ir sensor is directly behind the screw of the fan cage when the fan is set to flat angle. Yes, I can still control by taking that into account and aiming the remote to avoid it. The ir sensor placed half inch lower would have worked better. I considered changing the cage to put screw at different location but that would annoy me every time I looked at the upside down Amazon written across the front. The modes are clever and are nice if you want to vary fan speed without the distraction of oscillation. I do like the ability to start oscillation and then stop when it reaches the desired angle.

This appears to be a quality product. Easy, quick assembly. Just a Phillips screwdriver needed. Materials are mostly metal which is encouraging. The one I'm replacing was mostly plastic. This one is heavier but not excessively. Makes me think it will be more durable. Time will tell. The remote is something I've never had in pedestal fan and I think I'm really going to like it.! The most impressive attribute are it's volume of air movement and extremely low level of noise. I'm fascinated by the fan blade design itself. There are 2 separate props stacked together, one larger diameter than the other. (see photo) I wonder if that is the secret to high volume with low noise?

It was easy to assemble. The base has a small footprint and is heavy. The fan doesn't wobble around while running and is fairly quiet. The remote is a must have feature but I've noticed it can sometimes take a few presses of the power button for it to work; I think the range for the remote could be short and that might be the issue. The digital display lights up when adjusting settings but times out after a few seconds and turns off which is fantastic since I use this in my bedroom during sleep.

Well, here I am a year later to report this oscillating fan suddenly decided to do something VERY bad. It put out a loud electrical 'snap' & the fan blades stopped working. Oh, it still oscillates but it can't go fast enough going just side-to-side to generate a breeze. Of course this happened just one week past it's one year warranty. (LOL) I do like the fan, so I'll probably buy another next Spring. As to my original review: If you’re looking for a very nice oscillating fan with an excellent remote this one is a very good value. HOWEVER, first you have to assemble it. If I didn’t know better & it didn’t have the AmazonBasics® logo I swear the instructions were designed by IKEA®. [Anyone who’s ever tried to assemble that particular brand of furniture knows what I’m talking about.] I guess when they say 'Basics', they mean it. For those who are considering purchasing this item & wants to escape [most of] the assembly frustration here are some of the high points NOT covered in the instruction manual: 1) Go ahead & unpack everything. You will find all the parts there… someplace, somewhere. 2) Assembly of the base is dead easy. Pg. 6- 7. Unscrew the knob off the bottom, insert the stand & tighten the knob. 3) Following the directions…what little there are…slide main unit onto standard & tighten those knobs. I should mention that the LOWER knob is the one you loosen/tighten in order to extend the fan higher or lower. The other knob secures the main housing to the extendable arm. This isn’t mentioned till page 13. But, so far, so good. Now comes the good parts! 4) Remove the large fan blades off the back of the unit. Remove the Star Trek insignia shaped piece of plastic which is clipped to the blades. (I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what that thing was doing there or if I should take it off. It certainly looks like it belongs but it eventually it dawned on me this was just basically excess material.) Go ahead and toss it because it’s what’s known in the vernacular as a pocket part…just something they stuck on & it looks like you need it but it’s never mentioned. Put the blades aside for now. 5) Look on the shaft sticking out on the base. That’s where the knob you’ve been looking for is. It's not mentioned but you need a pair of pliers to hold the shaft while you turn the knob RIGHT in a reverse fashion to unscrew it. DON’T mess with the pins sticking out of the shaft, you’ll need them later. [Note: this is the opposite of the normal ‘lefty-loosey, righty-tighty’] 6) Now that you have the knob off go ahead & slide that black sheath off the post. Guess what, you get to throw that away too! It took me probably 15 minutes to figure out the blades’d never fit on the shaft with the sheath on. Turns out that piece wasn’t needed, either. Please note its presence is not mentioned anywhere in the directions. 7) Now that you have all the nice things they never told you about out of the way, go ahead and unscrew the fixing ring of the main unit’s front. You can do this by hand. Mount the rear fan guard onto the shaft with the 2 pin holes facing up & the single pin facing down.[You’re still on page 7] Screw on the fixing ring [not the small screw you took off the shaft] until it’s hand tight. 8) Now slide the large blades onto the shaft. If you look on the base of the fan blades you’ll see a small notch which has to be aligned with the pins on the shaft. You have to twist around & back to see the slot. Line them up & slide on the blades. 9) The smaller blades (this is a dual blade set) slide onto the shaft next with the tiny teeth facing out. [Didn’t think I’d make you guess, did you? The manufacturer did.] Now use that small knob you took off the shaft in Step 5 to affix all the blades in place. Remember, this is ‘left-to-tighten’ instead of the normal ‘turn right for tight’. 10) NOW comes the super fun part & it's definitely not in the directions. Take the main unit back OFF the base and lay on something flat like a bed or the floor. At this point I needed a VERY small Phillips head screwdriver (~1/32”), a 2nd person & a few strips of duct tape to manage this step. 11) There is a rubber strip with a screw at the bottom you have to wrap around the back fan guard, blades and all & the front one at the same time with everything EXACTLY lined up. The part with the screw goes at the bottom of the guards. You can’t hold the 2 parts together easily, so that’s where the duct tape comes in. I used 3 1”x ¼”strips, [though if you strip 2 or 3 twist ties down to the wire & use them to secure pieces I think they’d work even better], just enough tape to help plus my spouse to hold the front & back guards together while I fit the rubber ring around them. This step took more than 30 minutes to accomplish with the guards sliding all over the place, the duct tape coming loose because you can’t leave it on, trying to open the ring just enough to let it go around the 2 pieces, fitting the ring's track around both while my husband’s using a magnifying glass to see well enough to tighten the screw all while I’m trying to hold everything stable with pillows stuffed around the base to keep it from turning & twisting. Get the idea? I think we both learned a few new 4 letter words with this last step. If you don’t have the type of screwdriver in your home toolbox you can get one in the eyeglass repair kits at the local CVS or Walgreens. They’re about 5 bucks so. Once you get it tightened, you should be done. Don’t bother looking for a nut on the end of the screw as there isn’t one, which is a very strange design. Normally this means you can’t keep loosening/tightening the screw without stripping the mounting. I wouldn’t know; once we got started with tightening of the screw we just kept going as best we could until we got both guards together. 12) Replace the main unit back on the stand & tighten the knobs. 13)The remote is nothing after all that. Slide off the cover, pop in 2 AAA batteries, slide the cover back on & you're good to go. I will say it’s really nice to have a remote-controlled oscillating fan. I can control on/off, speed, mode, isolation & a timer for sleep. I just wish somebody taught AmazonBasics® how to write directions.

WOW. It was very easy to put together after watching the video. Much easier that I thought. You just to use a Phillips screw driver to loosen then retighten the screw to hold the outside fan cover to the back fan screen. VERY quiet; hardly can hear it at all despite lots of air moving ability. Very easy to adjust to have the air flow go exactly where you want it. I have used tower fans for years; flimsy stability compared to this. It may appear to be "old" school in looks, but is superior in function. Well worth the purchase.

The Amazon Basics Electric Fan is an excellent buy! It’s powerful, quiet, and so easy to use. The best part is the remote control – I don’t even have to get up to adjust the settings, which makes it super convenient, especially at night. It has multiple speeds and modes, and the airflow is strong enough to cool the room quickly. Assembly was simple, and the fan feels sturdy and well-made. For the price, the quality and performance are outstanding, that's why I bought one more. If you’re looking for a reliable fan that combines convenience and comfort, this one is perfect. Highly recommend!

El ventilador es muy sencillo de armar, para la parte de las aspas si es un poco confusa como lo dijo un comentario la parte protuberante lisa va hacia afuera para las dos aspas. Personalmente lo uso en modo "Eco" ya que esta función prende momentáneamente el ventilador durante periodos, lo que hace que el flujo no deje de cesar, y ahorra energia. Es bastante silencioso a nivel 1, yo lo uso durante reuniones del trabajo y enserio es muy silencioso, cuando la noche es muy calurosa también lo dejo a nivel 1 o 2 y el ruido es poco o nulo. Contras: Maldito pitido molesto al subir velocidades o cambiar las cosas, ya con la pantalla es suficiente, tal vez un día de estos entre para desconectar esa bocina. Sin duda lo recomiendo, bastante calidad precio

Lo recomiendo ampliamente, está muy bonito, los materiales son de muy buena calidad, el ensamblado súper fácil, la base me encantó por qué es más pequeña que otros ventiladores de pedestal pero trae una placa que le añade de peso y le da estabilidad, es silencioso y bastante potente, las aspas son de plástico, una es transparente y otra color blanco y las protecciones de metal, lo volvería a comprar sin dudar

Easy enough to assemble. Real perk of this fan I don't see mentioned enough is it can be set to VERY slow and still produce meaningful breeze. The last two speed settings create almost no noise at all and still move the air around a room nicely. 10/10 best fan I've owned.
