These are awesome firestarters. They burn for a long time and really get the fire going well. They make for a really clean fire start. I wondered if they would leave a mark when wax comes out of the cup, but the hot coals make it completely burn off. They even smell good.

I moved into a condo with a fireplace. It was my first fireplace ever and a little uncertain of how to start. When asking people about duraflame - it was not recommended because of the chemicals. When I looked on line and read the reviews about the starter logs decided to try and really it is so EASY. It starts a fire well with the wood I purchased at my local grocery story. Great product... will buy again.

I'd defy anyone to fail to start a fire with this Enviro-Log product. The chemical accelerant is solidified and contained within a circa 1-inch diameter cup. Light the edge of the cup and the chemicals quickly catch light and provide a useful flame that burns for about 10 minutes--plenty of time to set the wood alight. If the wood is a little damp or you really want to get the blaze going quickly, use 2 cups. There's no undue smell to the chemicals and no real need for kindling. An excellent product, no matter how inept one is.
