I like this knife it’s sturdy, sharp and well made. It’s grip is really comfortable and fits nicely in the hand also it’s made of rubber so it’s not slippery or anything, the blade is a nice length and width and comes shaving sharp so I can’t complain. The quality of the steel isn’t the best to it probably won’t hold an edge for too long but for the price I’d say it’s well worth it and it’s a nice knife

Overall this is a really nice knife for £20. It feels nice and weight and ergonomic in the hand. I wanted a fixed blade knife for camping and general use but didn't want to spend a fortune. I can't really see why you would spend much more on a knife to be honest when you can get something like this. Feels very sturdy and durable and would definitely recommend. The only negative is the sheath, it's quite basic and could definitely be improved.

I got this knife for a teenager boy to practice basic bushcraft in the garden, so he's been hacking trees, branches, generally just doing what boys do.The blade has some slight damage as would be expected, but less than I thought it would, and it will sharpen out very easily.The knife has good balance, and a well thought out handle.I would be happy with this knife myself, and I'm very fussy.

Firstly lets deal with the knife. I am very impressed with this especially for the price. Good solid blade and seems to take a good edge. How long it holds it I will have to wait and see. My intention was and still maybe replace the handle with wood scales. However I do not feel in a hurry as the composite handle is very good.Now we come to the sheath. Within ten minutes of it being unpacked it was in the waste bin. What a load of rubbish!Firstly the retaining strap was too short to go round the knife handle. Secondly it has some sort of stupid leatherette insert that hinders the knife blade going in or out. To cap it there is a load of childish inscription on it. As a previous reviewer said ditch the sheath and get a leather one. Because of the sheath I only give it 4 stars and really the manufacturer needs a kick between the legs for even thinking of including such an awful sheath with what seems to be a good knife.

So after 4 years of ownership (purchased in 2019) i think ive had enough time and usage to form an opinion of this knife.Cons.....the sheath is awful, its cheap and naff.Its functional but thats pretty much it, get rid and buy a leather one.Pros.What an awesome little tool this is, its accompanied me on camping trips, hunting trips, its come to work with me etc.Ive used it to chop down weeds and brush, ive used it to skin and gut shot animals, its been used to chop sticks and baton fire wood etc......its been used and because it didnt cost very much ive been less than sympathic with it.......but its held up to everything ive thrown its way.It holds a decent edge for ages and it takes a new one easily.Its comfortable to hold, it doesnt slip in wet or cold hands etc.It is a perfect little incredibly usable knife and best of all it was a little of £20....... absolute bargain in my book.

the knife has a very strong scabbard the metal is very sharp will be very easy to sharpen i think it be a long time befor it needs it

What a great Man's knife. It just feels right, not too small not too big. The Black River knife is wonderfull at an extraordinary price.You could pay a small fortune and not have such a good looking usable knife. If you like your knives this is a must.It also takes a great edge. I use a diamond and ceramic pocket sized slipstone to sharpen mu edges and the Black River knife comes up beautifully. I collect knives of all kinds and this is my No1! Hand's Down!Fabulous bit of kit. By the way if you have never tried ceramic sharpeners give yourself a treat, they give an unbeatable edge and polish at the same time and they do not wear out!

If you look for a budget knife for bushcraft, this is good budget option 👍 I’ve used it for a bit of batoning and blade did well with very little damage to edge. Ridges on top of blade give good grip for craving and also makes great striker with ferro rod 🔥

Ligero, hoja gruesa, filo mejorable.

The media could not be loaded. Coltello di acciaio BASE, ma efficiente e ben costruito. Regge bene al batoning leggero e persino di rami medi, anche molto duri, senza danneggiamenti al filo se si ha la manualità di almeno una begonia. L'affilatura è più che buona, si ottengono subito trucioli decenti. Bruttino ma funzionale il fodero, chi dice che il laccetto con bottone è corto ha usato il coltello 5 minuti senza aspettare che si allentasse un po'. Dopo poci utilizzi si allaccia con una sola mano. Prodotto eccezionale in rapporto al prezzo, onesto e decente in assoluto.

I almost purchased the version of this knife with the bone handle because of how good it looked; boy am I glad I decided to go with this one instead. I'm sure the other version is a great knife like this one is but I think this version had the best or second best grip of all the knives I have owned. Very comfortable and great balance. Mine was extremely sharp out of the box and after a couple days of using to cut cardboard, open letters, etc this knife is still shaving hair off of my arm. What a great fixed blade knife for under $20. Now to the sheath. It's your basic ballistic nylon that fits the knife and is functional. I know every knife review has to have that one crybaby that gives a five star knife a single star because for $18 it should come with A kydex molded and a leather sheath, right? And sv35 steel ... I mean it's $18 so it better be the best sheath that has never existed, right? For the sheath whining bed-wetters, yes this sheath sucks when compared to a kydex sheath or a leather sheath made from gently used basketballs or lamb skin leather. But it is functional and does protect you from cutting yourself. Western or Camillus or whoever makes this knife has made a great one and it is at the top of my collection.
