Simple and effectlive. Better than plastic.
At first I tried the most elegantly designed sprouting lids I could find, the plastic ones with built in legs for draining and the little thimble indentation in the center for air circulation and filling with water for rinsing. What I found is that they leaked water onto the windowsill, which attracted fruit flies, which in turn made their way up through the slits and holes in the lid into the jar, then they would breed and lay eggs on the sprouts. I ditched those then tried these lids. Instead of trying to prop them upside down, I just shake the water out gently as much as I can then keep them upright. Keeping it simple like this seems to work best and also keeps the lids from rusting. a small amount of standing water in the bottom of the jar is no big deal if you rinse once or twice a day. Just soak the seeds over night, rinse them in the morning and keep them in the dark for 3 or 4 days rinsing once or twice a day, then bring them onto the light for a few days to green them up. I start a new one every night with 2 teaspoons of alfalfa seeds in a 1/2 ct. jar to ensure fresh side of greens daily all week long for me and my two bearded dragons.

High quality lids
I'm actually using these with a drinking lid insert on my mason jars instead of the cheaper rings that are prone to rust. They're much sturdier and have held up well. I always hand-wash - worth noting you can still get spot/surface rust if stainless comes in contact w/other metals especially in the dishwasher.

Works as expected
I have been using these for a month now for sprouting and they really fit and work well. But I am seeing a couple of screens have gotten stretched out a little bit. Not sure if they will get bigger going forward.

Great upgrade from plastic!
These were a great way to get rid of any and all plastic surrounding my sprouting. They drain SO much better than the plastic versions (solid piece lids with grids.) I love that they don't let small seeds through, but the water comes out easily. My plastic versions wouldn't allow me to rinse the sprouts through the top, but these do so easily! What a great buy. I didn't want to spend high prices on ceramic sprouting systems (although, I would love one) and these are a great option, esp if you already own the quart jars.

Presumed to Work as Advertised
I haven't used these lids yet because the competing plastic lids are working well. The main thing that sets the plastic lids apart are the four needle like projections that enable a solid fixed position on the bottle mounts. This was an easy addition the supplier was able to add to their lids, likely somewhat more difficult to add to these metal lids.

Not stainless steel
These lids are working well for sprouting greens in my jars. However, they say they are stainless steel, but it must be only the mesh part. The ring around the mesh on the first lid I used was super rusty after a couple of batches. I guess I’m going to have to be more diligent about taking the set apart and drying it before putting it back on to the sprouting jar after rinses. But I was hoping I would not have to do that when I purchased these since the description said it was stainless steel.

Not stainless steel, false advertising
These lids are not made of stainless steel. I was skeptical when I first received the box and they came with standard wide mouth rings. There is no difference between these and rings I would use for canning, and those do rust. I used the screen insert anyway and it works well, but after just a few days sprouting being exposed to water, it rusts. If it were stainless, this would not happen so they are lying about the materials they use. Other reviewers have mentioned this. I can only imagine most of the people saying they don't rust haven't been using them long enough as it doesn't happen on the first couple rounds. That is why I always wait to leave a review on a product until I see how it holds up over time. Having only used these for a couple months off and on, I am not impressed.

Very happy with the lids.
Much more efficient than the plastic ones. Sprouts are higher quality with better air flow.

Slow shipping
These lids are good the only problem I have is the delivery time it took about a month for me to get them other than that the product is fine
