Fleet Foxes are an American indie folk band formed in Seattle, Washington in 2006. The band consists of Robin Pecknold (vocals, guitar), Skyler Skjelset (guitar, mandolin, keyboards), Casey Wescott (keyboards, guitar), Christian Wargo (bass, vocals), and Morgan Henderson (multi-instrumentalist). Fleet Foxes released their self-titled debut album in 2008 to much acclaim from critics and fans alike. The album peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. The band's follow-up album, Helplessness Blues, was released in 2011 and reached #2 on the US Billboard 200. Fleet Foxes' music is often described as "baroque pop" or " chamber pop" and features intricate vocal harmonies, lush instrumentation, and pastoral lyrics. The band's sound has been compared to that of groups such as CSNY, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Beach Boys.
